{"id":3567177,"url":"https://alion.io/job/peoplevantage-consulting-construction-manager-2","title":"Construction Manager","company":{"id":4486221,"name":"Peoplevantage Consulting","domain":null,"url":"https://alion.io/company/peoplevantage-consulting","size_band":null,"is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":null,"truth_index":null},"role":"Operations","role_family":"Operations","seniority":null,"employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Uyo, Nigeria"],"countries":["NG"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Gmail","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-14T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":null,"last_verified_at":"2026-10-14T00:00:00Z","board_verified":false,"closed_at":null,"days_open":19,"trust":{"level":"not_scored","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":19},"description":"Role Overview\n\n To oversee and coordinate day-to-day construction activities, ensuring works are executed safely, according to approved drawings and specifications, within schedule and budget, and in line with the project's quality requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nConstruction Planning & Execution:\n\n Coordinate daily site activities across civil, structural, architectural, MEP and finishing works.\n\n Ensure construction activities follow approved drawings, specifications, work plans and project schedules.\n\n Monitor site progress, identify delays and implement corrective measures.\n\n Coordinate labour, equipment, materials and subcontractors to maintain productivity.\n\nProject Scheduling & Progress Monitoring:\n\n Develop, update and monitor construction schedules using Primavera P6.\n\n Track planned versus actual progress, identify critical-path activities and flag potential delays.\n\n Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.\n\n Coordinate with the Project Manager and Project Controls team on recovery plans and schedule adjustments.\n\nQuality & Technical Coordination:\n\n Ensure construction works comply with approved designs, specifications and quality standards.\n\n Coordinate with the Design, Engineering and QA/QC teams to resolve technical issues.\n\n Monitor inspections, testing and corrective actions to prevent rework.\n\n Ensure proper documentation of site instructions, inspections and completed works.\n\nHealth, Safety & Environment:\n\n Enforce site HSE policies, safe work procedures and applicable regulations.\n\n Identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.\n\n Coordinate with the HSE team to promote a safe working environment.\n\nContractor & Resource Management:\n\n Supervise subcontractors, site engineers, foremen and construction teams.\n\n Monitor labour productivity, material usage and equipment utilisation.\n\n Coordinate construction interfaces to avoid clashes, delays and unnecessary downtime.\n\n Escalate resource constraints, cost concerns and major site issues to the Project Manager.\n\nKey Performance Indicators\n\n Achievement of construction milestones and approved schedules.\n\n Effective identification and resolution of delays.\n\n Compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.\n\n Reduction in rework, material wastage and avoidable downtime.\n\n Compliance with site safety requirements.\n\n Effective coordination of subcontractors, labour, materials and equipment.\n\n Timely and accurate progress reporting.\n\nRequirements\n\n Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management or a related discipline.\n\n 10–15 years' relevant construction experience, including at least 5 years in a Construction Manager or equivalent senior site management role.\n\n Proven experience managing large-scale, complex building projects; hospital, high-rise or institutional projects is an advantage.\n\n Proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory, including schedule development, updating, progress tracking and critical-path monitoring.\n\n Strong understanding of construction methods, drawings, specifications, quality control and HSE requirements.\n\n Professional registration with COREN, CORBON or another relevant professional body is an advantage, as applicable to the candidate's discipline.\n\nKey Competencies:\n\n Construction planning and site execution\n\n Primavera P6 scheduling and progress monitoring\n\n Critical-path analysis and delay recovery\n\n Multidisciplinary coordination\n\n Contractor and workforce supervision\n\n Quality assurance and HSE compliance\n\n Problem-solving and decision-making\n\n Reporting and stakeholder communication\n\nValue Proposition:\n\n An opportunity to lead construction delivery on a landmark, international-standard tertiary hospital project and contribute to the development of a major healthcare facility in Akwa Ibom State.\n\nLocation Preference:\n\n Candidates currently residing in Uyo or its immediate environs are strongly preferred due to the site-based nature of the role.
