Junior Buyer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Buyer to join our Ladieswear team. You will play a key role in supporting the procurement process and executing the departmental strategy to deliver a commercially viable range. Working closely with the Senior Buyer, you will assist in product development, supplier negotiations, and administrative management to ensure our ladieswear offering meets customer needs and sales targets.

Qualifications

• A relevant diploma or degree in Fashion Buying, Retail Management, or a related commercial discipline.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a retail buying or procurement role, preferably within ladieswear.
• Sound understanding of retail math, margins, and the apparel procurement lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel; experience with retail ERP systems is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage sample rooms and administrative workflows effectively.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in the development of seasonal ranges that reflect current trends and customer demand.
• Managing order placement and tracking to ensure on-time delivery of stock.
• Coordinating with the quality assurance team to manage fit sessions and sample approvals.
• Analyzing sales data and reporting on weekly performance to identify growth opportunities.
• Conducting competitor shopping and market research to maintain a competitive edge.
• Collaborating with Marketing and Visual Merchandising to ensure cohesive product launches.
