The Project Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate, timely owner billings and ensuring job costs are processed in accordance with contractual requirements and company internal controls. This role works closely with project teams to support financial accuracy, maintain accountability, and contribute to successful project outcomes.\n\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:\nReview owner contracts and identify billing requirements.\nAnalyze and process job-related costs in accordance with internal control procedures.\nCoordinate billing with project teams, prepare timely billings, and reconcile job costs to monthly billings.\nIdentify and communicate unbilled or late-billed costs.\nCoordinate timely subcontractor payments in exchange for waivers.\nReview and compile waiver packages.\nFacilitate job closeout, prepare final financial performance documents, and reconcile project profit and loss.\nMonitor subcontractor insurance compliance.\nUnderstand the impact of cash flow on project performance.\n\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.\nExperience in project or job cost accounting, preferably in construction.\nAbility to analyze complex issues, identify risks, and recommend solutions.\nStrong understanding of billing requirements and project accounting processes.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to multitask.\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nProficiency in accounting software; CMiC experience is a plus.\n\nThe salary range for this position is between $85,000 - $105,000. We consider many factors when determining the actual hiring salary.
