We are seeking an Alaska Workstream Product Owner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison between FAA stakeholders, engineering teams, and program leadership, ensuring that requirements unique to Alaska’s operational environment are effectively translated into deliverables. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience in federal contracting while supporting high-visibility aviation programs.\nWork Location:\nThis position will be onsite in Anchorage, AK.\nIn this position, you will:\nManage the product vision, roadmap, and backlog, enabling deployment of solutions that enhance safety, resiliency, and communications in one of the most challenging aviation regions in the world.\n\nServe as the Product Owner for the Alaska modernization workstream within FAA programs.\n\nDefine, maintain, and prioritize the product vision, roadmap, and backlog aligned to Alaska’s operational needs.\n\nTranslate stakeholder requirements into user stories, features, and epics for engineering teams.\n\nCollaborate with FAA leaders, local operators, and technical experts to define priorities and ensure alignment with mission objectives.\n\nSupport the deployment of infrastructure, communications, surveillance, and navigation solutions specific to Alaska.\n\nLead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release prioritization with Agile teams.\n\nEnsure solutions comply with FAA safety standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and resiliency requirements.\n\nProvide progress reports, KPIs, and value delivery metrics to FAA leadership.\n\nIdentify and manage dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies for Alaska programs.\n\nDemonstrated ability to manage complex product backlogs and feature prioritization.\nExcellent communication and facilitation skills with experience briefing executives.\nAbility to work in multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.\nWhy This Role Matters:\nThe FAA is the cornerstone of aviation safety and innovation. As the Alaska Workstream Product Owner, you will play a vital role in ensuring that FAA systems and infrastructure meet the unique demands of Alaska, directly supporting the safety of local communities, commercial operators, and the traveling public.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nU.S. Citizenship Required.\nMust have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.\n12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience\nProduct ownership, systems engineering, or aviation program management experience.\nProven experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, or equivalent).\nStrong background in aviation systems, infrastructure, or communications technologies.\nFamiliarity with the unique aviation challenges (remote operations, extreme weather, limited infrastructure).\nExperience in federal IT or aviation compliance standards (NIST RMF, FISMA, SMS).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDirect FAA or NAS configuration management experience.\nExperience with FAA acquisition processes, AMS standards, and safety frameworks.\n\ndegree in Systems Engineering, Aviation Management, or Business Administration.\n\nCertifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe POPM, or PMP.\n\nExperience supporting FAA NextGen or Alaska aviation modernization initiatives.\n\nBackground in communications, surveillance, or navigation systems relevant to Alaska operations.\n\nFamiliarity with international aviation standards (ICAO, ITU-T).\n\nExperience working directly with regional operators, airports, or state aviation authorities.\n\nTarget Salary Range\n$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
