We support the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Data Engineering and Processing (DEAP) project by providing analyses, solutions and maintenance of many processes that ingest financial market data used across multiple CFTC regulatory and analytical systems, including high-volume, mission-critical data ingest pipelines. These processes and the data ingested are critical to the mission of the CFTC. This position requires up to three (3) specific days onsite in the Washington DC facility and two (2) teleworking days per week.\nWhat You Will Do:\nServe in a technical lead role providing leadership for a small team of data engineers responsible for development, maintenance, and modernization of multiple DEAP ingest loaders.\nServe as a member of an Agile team to provide engineering support and maintenance of services and processes that migrate and promote data and algorithms to the AWS cloud environment and supporting cloud databases.\nDesign, code, test and implement AWS cloud-based solutions\nWork with the customer and Peraton team on requirements gathering and task estimation.\nPerform routine data checks, code development and quality checks.\nPerform database planning, design and implementation\nPerform systems analysis, design and implementation\nPerform code reviews and cloud deployments\nProvide regular status updates on progress both within the Agile framework and via weekly status reporting.\nWork Location: Washington, DC\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in computer science or similar discipline and at least 8 years of experience or a minimum of 6 years experience with a Master’s degree or Minimum of 3 years with PhD\nFamiliar with tools such as AWS, Lambda, S3, Git, Azure DevOps, EC2, Step Function, Hive, Glue, Spectrum, Athena, S3, SNS SQS\nStrong experience with databases and programming with SQL, Python, XML, C# .Net\nStrong experience in analyzing and designing data migration strategies to load data from on-perm data warehouse (SQL Server) to cloud data warehouse (Redshift and RDS).\nExperience in ETL process using AWS resources\nWorking experience using XML data exchange message formats, required modifications, or extensions\nAWS Solutions Architect certified\nMust be a US Citizen\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance\nAbility to work on-site at least 3 days a week in Washington, DC\nPreferred Qualifications:\nActive Public Trust or other active clearance\nMaster’s degree in business, finance, computer science, statistics or related field and 6 years of experience\nExperience with microservices, distributed data processing, or event-driven architectures.\nPrior experience supporting high-volume data pipelines in a regulated environment.\nExperience with troubleshooting ingest failures, rule-based validation systems, and XML/FIXML transformation workflows.\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
