This role involves designing, building, deploying, and maintaining cloud and on-premise infrastructure using modern automation and configuration management practices. The engineer will contribute to system lifecycle activities including development, integration and test, deployment, and operations.\nWhat you’ll do:\nSupport system lifecycle activities across development, integration and test, deployment, and operations.\nBuild and maintain highly available, high-performance networked systems in a team-oriented environment.\nDeploy cloud instances and applications, leveraging automation tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.\nDevelop and maintain Ansible playbooks for automated deployment and system patching within large-scale environments.\nCreate systems engineering documentation including concepts of operation, requirements, specifications, and interface documents.\nAssist with system planning, scaling, and design activities.\nSupport infrastructure-related trade studies.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nAssociate’s degree in engineering, Computer Technology or related field and 7+ years of experience; OR bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Technology or related field and 5+ years of experience; OR master’s degree in engineering, Computer Technology or related field and 3+ years of experience. An additional four (4) years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered\nThis position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance. \nProficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems, including building and configuring systems from scratch, troubleshooting system functionality, and leveraging automation tools where possible.\nExperience installing, configuring, and deploying services following industry-standard security and authentication practices.\nExperience creating, modifying, and troubleshooting Ansible playbooks for configuration and sustainment activities.\nExperience using scripting languages such as Bash, Ansible, or Python for automation across physical and/or virtual hosts.\nExperience using Git for collaboration, configuration management tracking, and code review.\nExperience creating and updating process documentation related to infrastructure deployments and system sustainment.\nExperience integrating hosts and applications with Identity and Access Management (IDAM) systems such as Active Directory, FreeIPA, or similar.\nExperience deploying and troubleshooting PKI infrastructure and PKI-related issues.\nExperience with RHEL 8.x or similar Linux OS, including system build, package installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.\nExperience troubleshooting issues related to PKI configuration, networking, firewalls, or similar infrastructure layers.\nExperience using automation tools to perform security hardening, vulnerability patching, and SELinux configuration and troubleshooting.\nDesired Qualifications:\nHands-on experience with Kubernetes, including troubleshooting containerized workloads, node issues, and deploying/upgrading configurations using YAML, Helm, or GitOps.\nExperience with Red Hat technologies or similar, such as OpenStack, OpenShift, OpenStack Services on OpenShift, or Satellite.\nExperience deploying and managing relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.\nExperience configuring and managing multi-factor authentication (MFA) technologies and associated identity protocols (e.g., SAML, OIDC).\nExperience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, Sensu, Prometheus, Grafana, or Kibana.\nExperience developing infrastructure solutions that maximize uptime, reduce repetitive tasks, and minimize human error.\nExperience with out-of-band management technologies including iDRAC, iLO, or IPMI.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.\nDetail-oriented and able to work independently.\nBenefits:\nPeraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan\nTarget Salary Range\n$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
