If you want your engineering, operations, or analytics work to matter to someone, this is where it does.\nPosition Duties & Responsibilities\nPerform CFD and thermal simulations to evaluate airflow, cooling, temperature distribution, and equipment operating conditions within data center environments. \nAuthor simulation reports and recommend containment, tile, and cooling configuration adjustments. \nIntegrate DCIM sensor and BMS telemetry inputs into modeling scenarios. \nSupport the Senior CFD Engineer on portfolio-level thermal analyses and design reviews. \nQualifications\nRequirements\nCurrently possess or be able to obtain VA Public Trust - High Risk (BI High) / Tier 4 background investigation. \nBachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering field; 5+ years of CFD or thermal modeling experience. \nEducation substitutions (per Peraton Career & Compensation Framework): Master's degree substitutes ~2 years of required experience; Ph.D. substitutes ~5 years of required experience. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 4 additional years of relevant experience is acceptable (Associate's degree + 2 additional years also accepted for equivalent professional levels). \nWorking proficiency with TileFlow or equivalent CFD software. \nDesired Skills, Tools & Certifications\n Tools: Innovative Research TileFlow (primary CFD), 6SigmaDC / Future Facilities (alternate), AutoCAD, MS Visio, SketchUp, and DCIM sensor data (Nlyte). \nProcesses: ITIL v4 service management, SAFe Agile / Scrum for iterative delivery, NIST 800-53 / RMF, ISO 27001, TIA-942, ASHRAE TC 9.9, VA CRISP alignment, NFPA 70/70E, and OSHA safety practices.; ASHRAE TC 9.9; PUE methodology. \n Certifications (desirable): PE (Mechanical), EPI CDCP/CDCS, ASHRAE Datacom certificate, LEED AP. \nWork location: Austin, TX\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
