Individuals who are passionate about cybersecurity, committed to excellence, and eager to make a meaningful impact are encouraged to apply.\nIn this role, you will apply forensically sound methodologies to acquire, examine, and analyze digital evidence across a broad range of devices and media types, directly supporting DoD, IC, and law enforcement customers.\nResponsibilities:\nConduct forensic acquisition and examination of computers, hard drives, mobile devices, storage media, and other electronic devices containing potential evidentiary material.\nPerform digital forensics and electronic discovery services including evidence preservation, data recovery, tape recovery, email extraction, and database examination.\nIdentify and document network intrusion evidence using forensically sound procedures; attribute activity to perpetrators where possible.\nApply forensic tools and techniques to crack file and system passwords, detect steganography, and recover deleted, fragmented, or corrupted data from digital media.\nInvestigate computer fraud and electronic crimes in support of federal and military legal proceedings.\nMaintain proper evidence custody and control; document procedures and findings to courtroom presentation standards.\nProduce comprehensive written forensic reports suitable for technical and non-technical audiences.\nProvide expert witness testimony in federal or military court proceedings as required.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nExperience & Education\nBachelor's degree with 8 years’ experience, master’s degree with 6 years’ experience, PhD with 3 years’ experience. A degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering or related field is highly desired. However, an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.\nTechnical Skills\nDemonstrated experience in digital forensics (exploitation and examination).\nProficiency with industry-standard forensic tools: EnCase, FTK, X-Ways Forensics, Axiom, Cellebrite, GrayKey\nHands-on experience with mobile device data extraction and analysis (iOS and Android).\nExperience with file system forensics, forensic media imaging, and large dataset analysis.\nProficiency in timeline analysis, email analysis, and signature/hash analysis.\nStrong technical report writing and verbal communication skills.\nClearance & Compliance\nActive Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.\nActive DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification compliance required at time of start.\nDesired Qualifications:\nIndustry certifications: CFCE, EnCE, ACE, GCFE, CHFI, PenTest+, DoD-DFE.\nPrior Intelligence Community (IC) experience.\nExperience with forensic tool and script development.\nProgramming proficiency (any language).\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
