This role supports the Government in applying a multidisciplinary systems engineering approach to requirements, architecture, solutions engineering, integration, test and evaluation, reliability, resiliency, services development, maintainability, scheduling, and technical analysis across the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agencies.\nThe Expert Systems Engineer will help translate mission and customer needs into technical requirements and solutions, advise on strategic technical decisions, and integrate complex systems and programs across organizational, agency, department, and national boundaries.\nKey Responsibilities\nSystems Engineering & Requirements\nSupport Government leadership in requirements engineering, solutions engineering, architecture, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and technical analysis.\nPlan, analyze, and establish traceability for user requirements, architectures, procedures, and system problems to automate or improve existing capabilities.\nCapture and translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and technical solutions.\nAnalyze and allocate requirements across system architecture components and executing programs.\nEvaluate cloud service capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations.\nAdvise the Government on proposed solution design changes based on requirements analysis and emerging technologies.\nApply systems engineering lifecycle principles across complex, large-scale environments.\nIntegration & Technical Analysis\nSupport systems integration activities across complex enterprise environments.\nLead or support Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.\nSupport strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design.\nProvide expert technical advice related to vision, strategy, plans, mission needs, requirements, processes, and capability development.\nIntegrate multiple Major Systems Acquisitions across organizational, agency, department, and governmental/national boundaries.\nLeadership & Program Support\nAssist the Government in directing multidisciplinary systems engineering efforts across the NSG, ASG, and Federal Agencies.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to contractor engineering teams.\nOversee and coordinate the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level Systems Engineers.\nApply expertise to complex government and industry programs supporting mission-critical GEOINT capabilities.\nLocation: This position is fully onsite in Chantilly or Springfield, VA\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM discipline; or equivalent additional experience (4 years with no degree or 2 years with a non-STEM degree).\n18+ years of experience working in government or industry in relevant areas, including DoD/IC acquisition processes, requirements processes, PPBES processes, or systems engineering of large, complex Systems of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments operating in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures.\nStrong understanding and demonstrated experience across the systems engineering lifecycle.\nDemonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.\nPrevious NGA and/or NSG/ASG program or project experience.\nPrevious IC or DoD program/project experience.\nTS/SCI clearance adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI and successfully pass a polygraph.\nDesired Qualifications\nMaster’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM discipline.\nWorking knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, and languages.\nSoftware Development Framework certification.\n INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) licensure.\nMembership or leadership participation in professional organizations such as:ACSM\nASCE\nASPRS\nOGC\nSAREM\nUSGIF\n\nExtensive experience in Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT).\nExperience engineering solutions using cloud-based technologies.\nExperience engineering solutions using structured and unstructured Big Data.\nExperience engineering solutions using Automation, Augmentation, and Artificial Intelligence technologies.\nDemonstrated expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, or related disciplines.\nTarget Salary Range\n$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
