You will work closely with cloud, Kubernetes, platform, and operations engineers to turn established engineering patterns into production-ready automation.\nResponsibilities\nInfrastructure-as-Code\nDevelop and maintain reusable Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or comparable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions.\n\nCreate standardized environment and tenant templates based on approved deployment patterns.\n\nMaintain infrastructure definitions in source control using peer review and controlled change processes.\n\nImplement versioning, testing, rollback, and lifecycle-management practices for infrastructure automation.\n\nDevelop reusable modules and automation patterns that support consistent infrastructure deployment across environments.\n\nProvisioning & Automation\nIntegrate infrastructure automation with CI/CD pipelines and service-request workflows.\n\nSupport ServiceNow-driven provisioning where approved, including execution patterns for highly secure environments.\n\nAutomate repeatable configuration activities across networking, compute, storage, identity, logging, and security.\n\nDevelop validation and compliance checks to confirm provisioned resources meet approved configuration requirements.\n\nIdentify opportunities to replace manual infrastructure activities with reliable, repeatable automation.\n\nTroubleshoot provisioning failures and improve automation based on recurring issues and operational feedback.\n\nHybrid Infrastructure & Tenant Support\nDevelop and maintain automation across AWS classified cloud, other cloud environments, and on-premises infrastructure.\n\nPartner with Hybrid Cloud / Kubernetes Engineers to translate approved infrastructure patterns into reusable automation modules.\n\nTroubleshoot infrastructure state, dependency, configuration, and provisioning issues across environments.\n\nSupport repeatable tenant onboarding and lifecycle-management processes.\n\nContinuously improve provisioning automation based on tenant onboarding requirements, platform changes, and operational lessons learned.\n\nEngineering & Delivery\nApply software-engineering practices to infrastructure automation, including source control, peer review, testing, versioning, and controlled releases.\n\nCollaborate with platform and engineering teams to ensure automation aligns with established architecture and operational requirements.\n\nSupport infrastructure lifecycle activities as environments evolve and new capabilities are introduced.\n\nDocument automation patterns, dependencies, and operational procedures to support maintainability and knowledge transfer.\n\nLocation: This position is fully onsite in Chantilly, VA\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nActive TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.\n\nApproximately 5-8 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, automation engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n\n5 years with BS/BA, An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\nStrong experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code.\n\nDemonstrated experience with AWS and Linux environments.\n\nExperience with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nStrong scripting skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or comparable languages.\n\nExperience troubleshooting automated provisioning, configuration, state, and dependency issues.\n\nStrong understanding of infrastructure automation, repeatability, version control, and controlled change practices.\n\nDesired Qualifications\nTerraform experience.\n\nAWS CloudFormation experience.\n\nAnsible experience.\n\nGitLab CI/CD experience.\n\nKubernetes and Helm experience.\n\nExperience supporting AWS classified-region environments.\n\nServiceNow or API-driven provisioning integration experience.\n\nExperience developing reusable infrastructure modules or tenant-provisioning frameworks.\n\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
