9 located at the Austin Data Center (ADC) and 5 located at the San Angelo Data Center (SDC).\nThis role is responsible for IBM mainframe operations, production control, batch scheduling, system software management, technical support, infrastructure currency, MIPS/CPU consumption tracking, networking, software procurement coordination, disaster recovery, and support for mainframe application replatforming to modern platforms.\nCandidates must be local to the Austin and San Angelo Area or willing to relocate.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMaintain overall accountability for mainframe technology and service delivery across all 14 mainframes:\n9 at the Austin Data Center (ADC)\n5 at the San Angelo Data Center (SDC)\nLead IBM mainframe operations, production control, and batch scheduling management.\nManage mainframe system software, technical support, and currency maintenance.\nTrack and report MIPS/CPU consumption.\nManage mainframe networking.\nCoordinate mainframe software procurement activities.\nPlan, coordinate, test, and execute mainframe disaster recovery activities.\nAssist DIR customers with mainframe application replatforming to modern platforms.\nSupport migration and modernization activities involving mainframe and cloud/hybrid environments.\nEnsure appropriate CJIS, IRS Publication 1075, and data security compliance for mainframe-hosted applications.\nCoordinate mainframe service delivery across the Austin and San Angelo data center environments.\nMaintain operational stability, availability, performance, and technical currency across the mainframe environment.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nCandidates must meet the following requirements:\n10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience\n8+ years of IBM mainframe operations experience in production government environments.\nGovernment mainframe operations experience required.\nDemonstrated experience with IBM z/OS systems administration and system software management.\nExperience with production control and batch scheduling, including:\nCA7\nTWS/OPC\nEquivalent enterprise batch scheduling platforms\nExperience with mainframe networking, including:\nVTAM/NCP\nTCP/IP on z/OS\nDemonstrated experience with mainframe disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.\nStrong understanding of IBM mainframe production operations and enterprise service delivery.\nExperience supporting complex, highly regulated or government mainframe environments.\nAbility to manage mainframe operations across multiple data center locations.\nStrong technical leadership, operational management, incident resolution, and stakeholder communication skills.\nMust be a US Citizen\nPreferred Qualifications:\nThe following qualifications are strongly preferred:\nExperience with mainframe application replatforming.\nExperience with mainframe-to-cloud migration.\nExperience operating in hybrid mainframe/cloud environments.\nExperience assisting customers with modernization of legacy mainframe applications and workloads.\nExperience with modern cloud platforms and integration of mainframe environments with cloud infrastructure.\nExperience supporting large-scale government mainframe modernization initiatives.\nPreferred Certifications:\nIBM Certified Systems Operator (z/OS) or equivalent preferred\nIBM z/OS System Programmer certification preferred\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
