This role will drive the development of AI-enabled digital twins, system simulations, and decision-support tools used to evaluate system performance, operational scenarios, and modernization strategies across the NAS.\nThe ideal candidate is a highly experienced technical leader with deep expertise in Modeling & Simulation (M&S), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), AI frameworks, and aerospace systems, capable of guiding teams and mentoring engineers while shaping enterprise-level technical strategies.\nAt Peraton, you won’t just support the mission - you’ll define it.\nThis position is 100% remote.\nWhat You’ll Do\nArchitect and lead the development of enterprise Modeling & Simulation (M&S) solutions supporting FAA modernization and BNATCS initiatives.\n\nDesign and implement AI-enabled digital twin environments and simulation frameworks to model NAS operations, system performance, and modernization scenarios.\n\nApply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to support system design, integration, and verification activities.\n\nLead technical teams and provide mentorship to engineers and analysts involved in modeling, simulation, and digital engineering efforts.\n\nDevelop simulation models and analytical frameworks to assess system performance, risk, and operational outcomes across complex aviation environments.\n\nIntegrate AI/ML techniques into modeling and simulation platforms to enable predictive analysis, scenario testing, and decision support.\n\nConduct risk and performance analyses using simulation outputs to support FAA program decisions and operational planning.\n\nCollaborate with FAA stakeholders, systems engineers, and program leadership to translate operational needs into simulation-based solutions.\n\nEvaluate manufacturing, system integration, and operational considerations through simulation to improve lifecycle planning and deployment strategies.\n\nProvide architectural oversight for simulation infrastructure, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and compliance with FAA engineering standards.\n\nPrepare and deliver technical briefings, simulation results, and architectural recommendations to FAA leadership and program stakeholders.\n\nSupport program strategy and business development activities by contributing technical expertise to proposals and solution development.\n\nWhy This Role Matters\nFAA modernization is transforming how the National Airspace System operates. Your work will directly influence mission-critical aviation infrastructure serving millions of passengers daily.\nQualifications\nBasic Qualifications:\n12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience\n\nMust have the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance. \nProven expertise in Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and digital engineering environments supporting complex systems.\n\nStrong background in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools.\n\nExperience designing and implementing AI/ML frameworks or Digital Twin architectures.\n\nDemonstrated experience in aerospace, aviation, or FAA-related systems.\n\nExperience performing risk analysis, system performance modeling, and scenario-based simulation studies.\n\nFamiliarity with manufacturing systems modeling, system lifecycle simulation, or operational readiness analysis.\n\nProven leadership experience managing or mentoring technical teams and direct reports.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights.\n\nExcellent communication and presentation skills, with experience briefing senior technical and government stakeholders.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDirect experience supporting FAA modernization initiatives or NAS-related systems.\n\nExperience with digital twin platforms, AI/ML simulation tools, or advanced modeling frameworks.\n\nFamiliarity with FAA systems engineering and safety assurance processes.\n\nCertifications in MBSE, Digital Engineering, or Systems Architecture frameworks.\n\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
