The ideal candidate is a hands-on full-stack engineer who can navigate a complex legacy financial application, deliver secure enhancements, resolve production issues, and collaborate effectively with an Agile delivery team.\nThis position supports the General Services Administration (GSA) Public Buildings Service (PBS) Reimbursable Work Authorization (RWA) Entry and Tracking Application (RETA) program, which provides operations and maintenance and enhancement support for a mission-critical financial web application. RETA enables agencies to manage reimbursable work authorizations and cost estimates and integrates with financial systems including Pegasys and FMIS.\nWork Location: Remote\nShift Schedule: 8am - 5pm Eastern Standard Time (EST)\nDay to Day Roles and Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, maintain, and test features for a web-based financial application built on Microsoft .NET Framework. \nImplement interactive front-end functionality using JavaScript and jQuery and integrate it with ASP.NET application logic. \nDevelop secure server-side business logic in C# using sound object-oriented design and maintainable architectural patterns. \nBuild, consume, and troubleshoot SOAP-based web services and XML integrations with internal and external financial systems. \nDevelop and optimize ADO.NET data-access components and Oracle SQL/PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and transactions. \nParticipate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, refine user stories, estimate tasks, and deliver sprint commitments. \nWrite and maintain unit tests, conduct peer code reviews, and support integration and deployment activities. \nInvestigate and resolve production defects, performance bottlenecks, and financial data-integrity issues. \nCollaborate with the product owner/business analyst, tester, and other team members to translate complex financial requirements into working software. \nMaintain technical documentation, including designs, interface specifications, and deployment procedures. \nApply secure coding practices, including input validation and protection of sensitive data. \nQualifications\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelors Degree and 8 years professional experience or Associates degree and 10 years professional experience or Masters Degreen and 6 years professional experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years professional experience. \nUS Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. \nProfessional experience building web applications using Microsoft .NET Framework and C#. \nHands-on JavaScript and jQuery experience. \nExperience developing and integrating SOAP web services using XML and related standards. \nExperience using ADO.NET for database access, connection management, parameterized queries, and transactions. \nOracle database development experience, including SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization. \nExperience deploying, configuring, or troubleshooting applications in IIS. \nExperience working in Agile/Scrum teams, estimating stories, and delivering sprint-based work. \nKnowledge of object-oriented design, web application architecture, version control, and code review practices. \nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills. \nExperience with ASP.NET Web Forms and/or MVC, WCF, and Web API. \nExperience with RESTful services in addition to SOAP. \nExperience with .NET and Oracle performance profiling and diagnostic tools. \nExperience maintaining complex legacy financial applications, scheduled Windows jobs, or multi-system data interfaces. \nFamiliarity with GSA RETA, RWA workflows, Pegasys, or FMIS. \nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
