The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco networking technologies, network security, enterprise routing and switching, and secure government networking standards. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on engineering capabilities, and the ability to operate in secure and dynamic operational environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure.\nPlan and deploy standardized configurations across enterprise switching environments.\nLead migration efforts from End-of-Life (EOL) devices.\nDesign, deploy, and manage solutions for network access control and authentication services.\nImplement and maintain DISA STIG hardening guidelines and security compliance standards across network infrastructure.\nSupport deployment and integration of encryption devices and manage cryptographic equipment imports.\nAssist with fiber optic cabling installations, infrastructure upgrades, and connectivity troubleshooting.\nDesign and implement IP subnetting strategies and IP address management solutions.\nMonitor and respond to incidents through internal ticketing systems while providing Tier III network support.\nTravel to remote locations to deploy network infrastructure and extend enterprise services.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues involving:\nRouting protocols (OSPF, BGP)\nLayer 2 switching\nVOIP systems\nLayer 1 cabling and physical connectivity\nIPSec tunnels and Type-1 cryptographic equipment\nUtilize SolarWinds and other network monitoring tools to proactively monitor network performance and generate operational reports.\nConfigure and maintain environmental monitoring systems and sensors within data centers and server rooms.\nDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and operational runbooks.\nProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-training to junior network engineers and support personnel.\nCollaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and facilities teams to ensure reliable and secure network operations.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 16 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 14 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 10 years with Ph.D.\n8+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure in complex environments.\nExperience implementing DISA STIGs and secure network configurations in federal environments.\nKnowledge of enterprise network security principles and best practices.\nExperience supporting VOIP technologies and troubleshooting telecommunications issues.\nAbility to read and understand network diagrams, technical documentation, and infrastructure schematics.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nActive TS/SCI or Q/SCI clearance.\nUS Citizen. \nPreferred Qualifications\nCisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise or CCIE.\nExperience supporting Department of Energy (DOE) or other federal government agencies.\nKnowledge of network automation and scripting tools.\nPrior experience working in classified or secure operational environments.\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
