Visit peraton.com to learn how we’re keeping people around the world safe and secure.\nResponsibilities\nPeraton is seeking a senior-level Power BI Data Architect to lead the architecture and technical design for the migration of an existing SAP BusinessObjects reporting environment, backed by SAP HANA, to Microsoft Power BI. This position is located in Herndon, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT).\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nThis position requires a strong combination of data architecture, data modeling, analytics, and Power BI expertise. The successful candidate must be capable of looking beyond individual report development and determining the appropriate overall architecture for delivering enterprise reporting and analytics through Power BI using semantic models with robust governance and strong security.\nKey Responsibilities\nReview BusinessObjects reports, Universes, data sources, calculations, business rules, dependencies, and security requirements.\nDevelop the target-state architecture for migrating reporting and analytics capabilities to Microsoft Power BI.\nDetermine which existing reports should be migrated, consolidated, redesigned, or retired.\nDesign scalable Power BI semantic models and reusable enterprise datasets.\nDevelop dimensional data models, including appropriate fact and dimension structures.\nIdentify Power BI technical limitations, performance risks, architectural constraints, and migration issues and recommend appropriate solutions or alternatives.\nDetermine the appropriate placement of data transformations, calculations, and business logic across Synapse, Power BI semantic models, and other applicable data layers and ETL components.\nTroubleshoot Power BI performance and optimize semantic models, queries, and reports\nWork with business stakeholders, data engineers, database teams, report developers, and application teams to translate existing reporting requirements into an optimized Power BI solution.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to Power BI developers implementing the architecture.\nDOSCSM\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in STEM along with 8+ years experience.\n7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, analytics, data architecture, or related disciplines.\n4+ years of hands-on experience architecting and designing enterprise Microsoft Power BI solutions.\nAdvanced experience with Power BI semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query/M, and Power BI Service.\nDemonstrated experience migrating or modernizing legacy enterprise BI/reporting platforms.\nAbility to communicate architecture decisions and tradeoffs to both technical teams and business stakeholders.\nU.S. Citizen.\nMust be able to obtain or have an Active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearances acceptable. \nAbility to work on-site 3x a week in Herndon, VA\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with SAP BusinessObjects, including Web Intelligence (WebI), Universes, and enterprise reporting concepts.\nExperience migrating SAP BusinessObjects reporting environments to Power BI.\nExperience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, or modern cloud data platforms.\nExperience designing enterprise Power BI governance and Center of Excellence standards.\nMicrosoft Power BI or Fabric certifications.\nExperience supporting large-scale, mission-critical reporting environments.\nTarget Salary Range\n$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
