The Procurement Manager drives supplier value, cost savings, risk mitigation, and compliance with federal procurement standards while supporting Sector growth and advancing enterprise-wide sourcing excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and manage the purchasing team supporting the Defense and Health, State & Local Sectors, providing direction, coaching, workload balancing, and professional development to ensure consistent, high-quality procurement execution across both Sectors.\nOwn forecasting and procurement planning across multiple programs and pipeline pursuits within the Defense and Health, State & Local Sectors, anticipating demand, aligning buying activity with program schedules and funding cycles, and ensuring supply continuity for current and future work.\nExperience supporting business growth from a procurement perspective, including shaping supplier/teaming strategy for new pursuits, enabling a Buyer team to deliver proposal pricing and BOM support, and scaling procurement operations to absorb new program awards.\nScale the purchasing organization and sourcing infrastructure to support Sector growth, anticipating staffing, supplier capacity, and process needs as program volume and complexity increase, and ensuring the function can absorb new program wins without disruption.\nServe as the primary strategic sourcing lead for the Defense and Health, State & Local Sectors, partnering with Sector leadership and Corporate Procurement to identify, prioritize, and translate business demand and growth priorities into sourcing strategies that support programs and operational priorities, while aligning with enterprise sourcing strategies where applicable.\nLead cross-functional teams to evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sector-level strategic partnerships that increase value, reduce risk, enable growth into adjacent markets and capabilities, and support supply chain sustainability where corporate enterprise strategies cannot be applied.\nCollaborate with enterprise-wide teams to ensure alignment and sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and leveraging of economies of scale across both Sectors.\nContribute to the development and refinement of enterprise-wide strategic supply chain strategies, ensuring consistent execution and scalability across Sectors.\nNegotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with federal procurement policies and achieving optimal terms for price, quality, and delivery.\nLead sector-level sourcing governance across both Sectors to maximize spend through strategic supplier and partner relationships, delivering sustainable realized value, cost savings, and cost avoidance.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives in the sourcing and purchasing process, leveraging data analytics and technology solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.\nManage supplier performance and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure reliability and compliance with federal and organizational standards.\nPersonal Attributes\nA strategic mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.\nDemonstrated ability to act as a thought leader, influencing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies and cultivating a network of collaboration across diverse teams.\nA growth orientation, with the ability to anticipate how new business wins and pipeline opportunities translate into sourcing, supplier, and team-capacity demands.\nProven people leadership skills, with the ability to build, develop, and motivate a high-performing purchasing team supporting multiple Sectors.\nHighly analytical and detail-oriented, with a commitment to excellence and high-quality outcomes.\nStrong communicator, capable of articulating complex strategies and influencing stakeholders at all levels.\nStrong change management skills, able to inspire alignment with new strategies, systems, and processes while earning broad buy-in.\nAgile and adaptable, with the ability to navigate changing environments and solve problems creatively.\nAble to work effectively in a geographically dispersed environment.\nQualifications\n10+ years of experience with a strong emphasis on business management, supply chain, or related fields.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in sourcing or procurement, preferably in the IT and technology sectors.\nExperience leading or managing a purchasing/procurement team, including workload planning and performance management.\nDemonstrated experience with demand forecasting and procurement planning in support of multiple concurrent programs.\nExperience supporting business growth from a procurement perspective, including supplier/teaming strategy for new pursuits\nStrong understanding of federal government operations, procurement regulations, and compliance requirements; familiarity with the Defense and/or Health, State & Local customer environments preferred.\nAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable sourcing strategies.\nExperience using artificial intelligence (AI) to support automation, sourcing activities, market intelligence, supplier management, or procurement decision-making is preferred.\nProven negotiation and relationship management skills, with a demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining strategic supplier partnerships.\nStrong project management capabilities, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion under tight deadlines.\nProficient in the use of procurement software (Costpoint, Ivalua, etc.), data analytics tools, and the Microsoft Office Suite.\nMust be a U.S. citizen.\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
