Your primary focus will balance maintaining and testing desktop-based VB.NET applications with validating modern, web-based applications driven by RESTful APIs.\nAdditionally, we are looking for a tech-savvy professional who is actively leveraging or implementing modern testing tools to optimize test suites, generate synthetic data, and accelerate our automation maturity.\nKey Responsibilities\nApplication Testing: Perform end-to-end, functional, regression, and integration testing on legacy VB.NET desktop environments and modern web applications.\nAPI Validation: Design, write, and execute comprehensive test scripts to validate backend RESTful APIs, checking data integrity, security, and edge-case handling.\nModern Testing Tool Integration: Evaluate and Implement modern testing tools to optimize test generation, execute smart healing scripts, and automate manual workflows.\nDefect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects to resolution using tools like Jira, collaborating closely with developers to reproduce complex bugs.\nTest Strategy & Planning: Author detailed test cases, test matrices, and user-acceptance criteria from technical documentation and legacy code logic.\nQualifications\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\n2 years’ experience with a Bachelors Degree\n2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance (both manual and automated).\nProven experience testing VB.NET applications (Windows Forms, WPF, or related .NET architecture) and understanding legacy codebases.\nStrong background in functional and system testing for modern, cloud-hosted web applications.\nProficiency in writing SQL queries to verify backend data changes and perform data validation.\nExtensive hands-on experience using Postman, SoapUI, or similar API client tools.\nStrong proficiency in testing RESTful APIs (validating JSON payloads, HTTP status codes, authentication protocols, and endpoint performance).\nExperience with automated API testing frameworks (e.g., RestAssured, Newman, or Postman automated collections).\nExperience leveraging modern tools to generate test cases, write automation fragments, or formulate edge-case test ideas.\nGeneral QA Competencies\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nExperience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.\nCandidate must be local to Cranston, RI.\nMust be a US Citizen or a permanent resident (Green Card Holder)\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
