In this pivotal role, you will ensure that FAA National Airspace Systems are upgraded in a timely manner.\nWork Location:\nRemote work is permitted; candidates must reside within the United States.\nMust be able to travel up to 90% of the time to support deployments at CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations.\nYour Impact:\nOur team of technologists and aviation experts are supporting the FAA update of new systems to National Airspace System (NAS). You will join this effort by examining FAA facilities, making plans to prepare them for new equipment, and installing new hardware systems. You will install or oversee the installation of new equipment, activation, and hand off to FAA personnel.\nReview and analyze site survey data to validate site conditions and develop Site Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP) that establish the technical baseline for site-specific engineering packages (including equipment layouts, cabling, risk plans, and other technical documentation prepared in accordance with applicable FAA orders for FAA approval)\nTrack project tasks and milestone status across multiple sites, ensuring activities are coordinated and risks are clearly communicated\nCollaborate with vendors and the FAA to ensure end-to-end site completion\nConduct discussions with facilities on equipment placement as required\nAs directed by the FAA, perform Operational Risk Management (ORM)\nCoordinate with vendors on ORM plans\nProvide on-site engineering and installation support\nPerform site hardware installation activities in accordance with the Site-Specific Implementation Plan in accordance with FAA policies, standards, orders and other applicable codes/regulations\nPerform site software installations in accordance with FAA policies, standards, orders and other applicable codes/regulations\nPerform infrastructure and installation checkout\nPerform site functionality test including network and interface connectivity as defined by the FAA\nConduct configuration management activities such as switch configurations, swap, local position set-ups, software versions.\nConduct Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI)\nSupport disposition of property\nComply with all FAA facility requirements (security, workspace availability) and professionally manage all site staff relationships\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nU.S. Citizenship Required\nMust have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance\nBachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience or Masters degree and 10 years’ experience or Associate’s degree and 14 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years’ experience\n7 years of hardware and software deployment/installation experience\nLinux experience\nMust be able to travel at least 90% of the time on deployments for both CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations\nAbility to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to work in confined spaces (server closets, raised floors)\nDemonstrated experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word\nProven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nFamiliarity with National Airspace System (NAS) architecture and modernization initiatives (e.g., NextGen)\nExperience supporting FAA, DOT, or other aviation or transportation programs\nCompTIA Security+, Network+, or similar technical certification\nProficiency creating network diagrams and rack elevations using tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office Suite\nRedhat Linux experience\nStrong understanding of power requirements (NEMA plugs, UPS sizing, BTU calculations)\nKnowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards (single-mode, multi-mode, CAT6)\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
