The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe. The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon. They provide the crucial connection for commanding our spacecraft and receiving their never before seen images and scientific information on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system and ultimately, our place within it.\nWhat You'll Do:\nYou will be responsible for testing, maintaining, and modifying RF and microwave subsystems that support the Deep Space Network (DSN). \nWorking on equipment like transmitters, receivers, and cryogenic microwave devices to ensure the continuous success of NASA’s space exploration efforts.\nResponsibilities:\nImplement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and contribute to continuous improvement processes.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues using advanced technical expertise, documentation, and schematics.\n\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on RF and microwave equipment to ensure optimal performance.\n\nOperate state-of-the-art test equipment and tools to support maintenance and troubleshooting activities.\n\nProvide technical guidance to junior technicians and foster a collaborative work environment.\n\nEnsure that all work adheres to safety procedures and industry regulations, maintaining a productive and safe workplace.\n\nDocument all activities accurately and in compliance with regulatory and site-specific guidelines.\n\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree (0-2 years) or High School diploma (6-8 years) with related experience in RF or microwave systems.\n\nProven understanding of motors, pumps, and water-regulated systems.\n\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in roles such as Electronics Technician, Electro-Mechanical Technician, Linux Computer Technician, PLC Controls, or IT Technician.\n\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and climb antennas up to 250 feet for maintenance.\n\nStrong commitment to safety protocols and hazard recognition.\n\nProficiency in following regulatory guidelines and documenting job activities accurately.\n\nThis position requires access to federal facilities and/or regulated areas, which requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license.\nDesired Qualifications:\nAssociate’s degree in Electronics or formal military electronics training.\n\n4+ years of experience with high and low power transmitter/receiver systems, including microwave (uWave) systems.\n\nSelf-motivated with a positive, team-oriented attitude.\n\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision, seeking assistance only for the most complex technical challenges.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nCross-training and professional development opportunities available.\n\nStrong leadership skills with the ability to influence key initiatives.\n\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
