The ability to read, comprehend, correct and generate professional quality design documentation is a required capability for this position.\nJob Purpose:\nThis position will support the design, development, testing and operational phases of projects\nundertaken at PERATON Labs, the research and development arm of PERATON corporation. This position requires a successful candidate to work closely with engineering, scientific and technical staff to develop novel solutions in support of such projects. This role is focused primarily on process control and plant interfaces.\nDuties and Responsibilities Include:\nDesign, develop, and test experimental Instrumentation & Control systems. \nAuthor and review documentation packages including process control diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, and test plans. \nPrepare material such as presentations, simulations, analysis and other key communicable material for both internal and external reviews for design, and manufacture. \nReview design document packages for manufacturability, testability and design validation. \nOccasionally support hands-on work to test electronics, software, diagnose failures and render repairs if needed. \nProvide technical oversight of staff when appropriate. \nQualifications\nRequired Education and Work Experience\nThe successful candidate has diversified knowledge of principles and practices in engineering.\nA degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required with the following experience levels:\nBS with 8 or more years of experience. \nMS with 6 or more years of experience. \nPhD with 3 or more years of experience. \n(Experience must be with relevant work in a professional setting)\n Required Skills/Attributes\nExperience implementing designs for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). \nExperience creating sub-systems and prototypes using fully customized designs, or COTS modules to connect to existing or legacy equipment. \nWorking with Analog and Digital IO data acquisition and control signals as well as signal conditioning techniques. \nFamiliarity with lab/bench hardware such as oscilloscopes, power supplies (AC and DC), and spectrum analyzers. \nExperience designing and troubleshooting cabling and interconnectivity. \nProficient in reading, writing and analyzing technical documentation \nAbility to be onsite five days a week when required. \nUS Citizenship\nDesired Skills/Attributes\nExperience Experimental Physics & Industrial Control System (EPICS) \nExperience using version control and configuration management tools like git. \nExperience programming Siemens PLCs \nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
