This is a hands-on opportunity to shape resilient solutions, contribute to architectural decisions, and directly impact mission success in a dynamic environment.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nDesign, develop, test, and operate secure, scalable software solutions aligned with mission and architecture requirements.\nIntegrate advanced security practices throughout the SDLC, including code reviews, security testing, and vulnerability mitigation.\nTroubleshoot, debug, and enhance both new and existing applications to improve performance and resilience.\nProvide engineering recommendations and design solutions to proactively reduce security risk.\nContribute across all layers of the architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.\nDevelop and maintain clear, sustainable technical documentation.\nCollaborate across teams to promote secure coding practices and knowledge sharing.\nStay current with emerging tools, frameworks, and best practices to continuously improve development workflows.\nWhat You'll Bring:\nYou’re a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges at scale.\nYou thrive in mission-driven environments, are comfortable working across the stack, and bring a strong foundation in secure development and distributed systems. \nYou’re naturally curious, collaborative, and focused on building resilient, high-performing solutions that make a real-world impact.\nQualifications\nBasic Qualifications:\nTwenty (20) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. \nFour (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.\nActive TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience developing software in Linux or Solaris environments (6+ years preferred).\nStrong development experience in Java, C, or C++ (Java strongly preferred).\nExperience building RESTful services and scalable distributed systems.\nExperience with Kubernetes or containerized environments.\nExperience with NoSQL/Open Source data platforms such as HBase, Accumulo, or Bigtable.\nExperience developing analytics-focused applications.\nPeraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan.\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
