This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.\nThe purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.\nAs a Test and Evaluation Systems Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the functionality and performance of software and hardware. Your responsibilities will include performing tier three support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. In addition to possessing in-depth technical knowledge of the Government’s software and hardware, you'll need advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and design skills. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical users is essential. Familiarity with the systems engineering process and data is a fundamental requirement for performance improvement. You'll actively participate in working groups, design reviews, and system tests. Additionally, this position involves generating assessments and implementing actionable recommendations based on reviews. Extensive knowledge of the development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance, is crucial.\nDuties include but are not limited to:\nAnalyze the results of software, hardware, or interoperability testing\nDesign, develop, and implement testing methods for USSOCOM's IT infrastructure\nCreate comprehensive test plans, scripts, and scenarios for functional, regression, and deployment testing\nConduct thorough analysis, diagnostics, and evaluations of products and systems\nMake recommendations based on test results\nCollaborate with development and requirements teams to coordinate and test applications\nTest, evaluate, and verify hardware and/or software to determine compliance with defined specifications and requirements\nMonitor and improve testing processes through failure analysis, throughput analysis, and yield analysis\nProvide expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and PowerShell scripting\nParticipate in working groups, design reviews, and system tests\nGenerate assessments and implement solutions for network and system improvements\nAssisting with immediate and emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution as required\nMaintaining currency in applicable industry standards from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)\nTranslate data and test results into evaluative conclusions\nQualifications\nRequired qualifications:\nMin 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years with AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, or 3 years with PHD \nActive DoD TS/SCI clearance\nAt least 3 years of related experience in support of a DoD enterprise level IT program\nAbility to focus on engineering from a performance optimization perspective\nAdvanced proficiency in MECM\nAdvanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting\nIn-depth understanding of Active Directory (AD), Trellix, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA)\nKnowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices\nExperience with software and hardware integration testing\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment\nWorking knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP)\nExpertise with system engineering processes and techniques\nExcellent collaboration and communication skills\nStrong technical writing skills\nDesired Qualifications:\nDoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 451 - System Administrator - Intermediate level or higher\nMCE Azure Architect OR MCE Azure DevOps Engineer OR VMware Certified Professional (VCP) OR Microsoft Certified Expert related to candidate’s work area\nPeraton Overview\nPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
