Visit peraton.com to learn how we’re keeping people around the world safe and secure.\nResponsibilities\nJob Description:\nAnalyze user and system requirements to support software design, define performance expectations, and assess technical feasibility\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications, including enhancing existing systems with new features and capabilities\nDebug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., systems and hardware engineers) to align software solutions with broader system architecture and constraints.\nDevelop and optimize data queries and database interactions, ranging from simple retrievals to complex data processing logic\nContribute to system integration efforts across new or existing environments, ensuring compatibility and stability\nApply algorithmic thinking to meet functional and performance requirements, including implementing efficient and scalable solutions\nSupport testing efforts by developing and executing test procedures for software component\nDocumentation & Process:\nCreate, review, and maintain clear technical documentation for software and system components\nRecommend and implement improvements to development processes, documentation standards, and team workflows\nPerform quality control activities to ensure adherence to coding standards and system requirements\nTeam Contribution & Leadership Growth:\nContribute effectively within a development team, with the ability to lead small efforts or tasks as needed\nAssist in coordinating development activities to ensure timely and compliant delivery of software solutions\nSupport continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and proposing practical enhancements\nDesign, develop and implement innovative software solutions that improve system functionality, address emerging requirements, and enhance operational efficiency. \nRequired Skills:\nJIRA & GitLab: Experienced in managing development workflows, issue tracking, and version control.\nProficient in coordinating Agile / Scrum Methodologies: Apply iterative development and sprint planning to improve collaboration, transparency, and velocity in software delivery.\nInfrastructure as Code (Terraform): Skilled in defining, provisioning, and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform, enabling automated, repeatable deployments.\nAWS Cloud Security: Implemented security best practices for cloud environments, including IAM policies, network segmentation, encryption, and auditing to protect resources and data.\nCI/CD Pipelines: Designed and maintained Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment, improving efficiency and reducing errors.\nQualifications\nBasic Qualifications: \nActive TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required\nFourteen (14) years of experience in software development/engineering.\nBachelor’s degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required\nFour (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree\nBenefits:Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees supporting this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap, and eligibility to participate in an attractive bonus plan.\nTarget Salary Range\n$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
