Very few can do dexterous work - plug a connector, seat a screw, mate a harness, handle a part that never sits quite where it did last time. That gap is the single biggest reason assembly lines still run on human hands.\nPerceptyne builds industrial humanoid/semi-humanoid robots that close that gap: dual-arm, highly dexterous, contextually intelligent, and priced appropriately to actually deploy. Our robots are going into electronics and automotive assembly lines, e-commerce packaging, and more\nIf you want to leapfrog into a robotics career by writing code that moves real motors, reads real sensors, and makes a physical machine more capable every week, this is that role.\nWhat You’ll Actually Do\nYou will work alongside experienced robotics engineers across perception, planning, controls, software, and hardware integration. This is a hands-on engineering role: you will write software, test it on robots, debug failures, and learn quickly from what happens in the real world.\nBuild and improve ROS 2 software for robot arms, grippers, sensors, and system telemetry. \nHelp implement motion-planning, trajectory-generation, and control pipelines for dual-arm manipulation. \nDevelop C++ and Python tools for calibration, data collection, testing, logging, visualization, and robot diagnostics. \nBring up and integrate hardware including cameras, depth sensors, encoders, motor controllers, grippers, and compute systems. \nRun experiments in simulation and on physical robots; compare expected behaviour with what the robot actually does. \nAssist with perception and manipulation tasks such as object detection, pose estimation, grasping, pick-and-place, insertion, and cable or connector handling. \nDebug issues spanning software, coordinate frames, calibration, communication, sensor noise, motion planning, and actuator behaviour. \nWrite clear documentation, test procedures, and reproducible experiment workflows. \nRead relevant robotics research and help turn useful ideas into practical prototypes. \nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe care most about strong fundamentals, hands-on evidence that you like building things, and the persistence to investigate a problem until the robot behaves better.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline-or equivalent demonstrated project experience. \n1+ years of experience in building software or hardware for robot arms, mobile robots, drones, autonomous vehicles, or custom mechatronic systems. \nWorking proficiency in C++ and/or Python. You should be comfortable reading existing code, debugging it, and writing clean additions to it. \nFamiliarity with Linux, Git, command-line tools, and standard software-development workflows. \nBasic experience with ROS or ROS 2, and a clear willingness and ability to master it quickly. \nUnderstanding of core robotics concepts: coordinate frames, transformations, forward and inverse kinematics, trajectories, sensors, feedback, and control. \nComfort with linear algebra and geometry: vectors, matrices, rotations, transforms, and coordinate systems. \nA practical debugging mindset: you can use logs, plots, measurements, and experiments to narrow down why something fails. \nWillingness to work directly with physical robots in our Hyderabad lab and deployment environments. \nNice to Have\nThese are helpful, not mandatory. Please apply if the core role fits you even if you do not check every box. \nPrior industry / academic Internship, research, personal-project in relevant field is an added advantage \nROS 2 packages such as MoveIt, RViz, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, rosbag, TF2, or ros2_control. \nFamiliarity with motion planning, trajectory interpolation, PID control, impedance control, force/torque sensing, or grasp planning. \nExperience with cameras, depth sensors, LiDAR, IMUs, encoders, or sensor calibration. \nExposure to OpenCV, computer vision, object detection, pose estimation, or machine learning. \nFamiliarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, CAN, EtherCAT, serial protocols, motor drivers, or actuator control. \nContributions to a GitHub project, robotics competition, research project, hackathon, internship, or a robot you built yourself. \nHow We Work\nAt Perceptyne, the robot is the referee.\nA simulation result, a paper result, or a beautiful architecture diagram matters only when it helps the physical machine perform a useful task reliably. We move quickly, test ideas early, and work across disciplines because real robots do not respect team boundaries.\nWe look for people with grit and dedication: engineers who keep working at a problem when the first prototype fails, who care about the unglamorous details that determine whether a system survives outside the lab, and who take ownership from first experiment to reliable deployment.\nYou will thrive here if you:\nPrefer building and testing over discussing ideas indefinitely. \nStay curious when the first explanation for a failure turns out to be wrong. \nPersist through difficult debugging cycles and learn systematically from failed tests. \nTake ownership of details, follow through on commitments, and care about reliable outcomes. \nCan move between software, sensors, mechanisms, and control loops without losing attention to detail. \nCommunicate clearly, ask good questions, and document what you learn. \nAre comfortable being early in your career while taking real ownership of meaningful work. \nWant to help build robots that operate in factories, not just videos. \nApply\nApply through the Perceptyne careers page or email .\nIf you have built something you are proud of, send it. A GitHub repository, project video, simulator, electronics build, research report, competition robot, or a small weekend experiment that genuinely worked tells us far more than a perfect resume.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6060,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":1,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"India","iso":"IN","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Computer Vision","Industrial Robotics","Humanoid Robots"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-12T16:46:01Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":62,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.623,"p_room":1,"age_days":4,"expected_fill_days":28,"reasons":["conf:2","stale_co","velocity","win:early","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-10-17T05:46:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/perceptyne-robotics-research-engineer-l1","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/perceptyne-robotics-research-engineer-l1.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-18T07:33:22Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":11236,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-19T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":21077},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=21077"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fperceptyne-robotics-research-engineer-l1"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fperceptyne-robotics-research-engineer-l1"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fperceptyne-robotics-research-engineer-l1"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/perceptyne-robotics-research-engineer-l1\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fperceptyne-robotics-research-engineer-l1"}]}
