This is how we build advantage and how we help protect our service members, our communities, and our country.\nNow, we’re entering a new phase of growth and are looking for contract Training Instructors to join our team, contributing to the successful field operation and training of our unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, possess strong technical and instructional skills, and excel at problem-solving. This role requires significant travel (100%). To maintain currency once trained and certified on the PDW C100, will be required to train at least one training event per month.\nThis is a part-time 1099 contractor position. There will be an estimated 5-10 days of work per month for this role.\nWhat You’ll Do\nPerform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on UAS platforms and associated equipment.\nTroubleshoot and repair hardware, electronics, and software issues.\nTest and calibrate UAS components to ensure optimal performance and safety.\nProvide on-site and remote technical support.\nMaintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and operational activities.\nCollaborate with internal teams to improve workflows and technical processes.\nDevelop and deliver comprehensive UAS training programs (virtual and on-site).\nTrain clients on UAS operations, mission planning, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.\nCreate and update training materials (manuals, guides, presentations).\nProvide detailed training after-action reports to leadership.\nRequirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications or associate degree preferred).\nMinimum 5 years of experience in UAS field operations, maintenance, and training.\nFAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.\nProficiency with various UAS platforms (fixed-wing, multirotor, hybrid).\nStrong knowledge of electronics, mechanical systems, and software integration.\nFamiliarity with mission planning software, GPS systems, and telemetry tools.\nAbility to use diagnostic equipment and tools.\nExcellent communication and instructional abilities.\nStrong problem-solving and organizational skills and ability to work independently.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various field conditions.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. Must be physically capable of walking between the office and production areas and attending events or meetings off-site as needed.\n\nWork Environment\nThis position typically operates in an office setting and manufacturing environment. This role requires use of standard office equipment and will require occasional travel to customer locations or facilities. This position may have exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and non-climate-controlled environments. May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on the environment.
