We are growing our team and are looking for a Mid to Senior Virtualization Engineer to design, run, and continuously improve the platforms that our critical services depend on. You will own our VMware estate end to end, while working across cloud and the broader infrastructure stack - networking, storage, backup, and automation.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building resilient, well-documented platforms and helping the wider team level up. You'll work closely with infrastructure, networking, security, and application teams to keep our environments performant, secure, and highly available.
What you'll do:
- Own our virtualization platform by designing, deploying, and operating VMware environments (vSphere / ESXi, vCenter) and alternative hypervisors across on-prem data centers.
- Handle day-to-day operations including provisioning, capacity planning, patching and upgrades, performance tuning, and lifecycle management of hosts and clusters.
- Ensure reliability and resilience through monitoring, alerting, backup/restore, and disaster-recovery procedures, while taking part in root-cause analysis of incidents.
- Automate repetitive tasks using tools or scripting to reduce manual work and enforce consistency.
- Support our hybrid cloud footprint by integrating on-prem virtualization with public cloud and supporting hybrid and migration initiatives.
- Contribute across the infrastructure stack by collaborating on compute, storage (SAN/NAS), and network configuration to keep the platform secure and performant.
- Document and share knowledge through runbooks, architecture diagrams, and standards, while mentoring more junior engineers, especially at senior level.
Requirements
- Bachelor'sdegree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- 3+ years working with virtualization and enterprise infrastructure.
- Strong, demonstrable knowledgeof the VMware stack - vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and clustering/HA/DRS concepts.
- Good understanding of infrastructure fundamentals: compute, storage (SAN/NAS, iSCSI/NFS/Fibre Channel), and networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, load balancing).
- Experience with at least one public cloud and core cloud concepts.
- Scripting/automation skills (PowerCLI, PowerShell, Bash, or Python) and comfort with infrastructure-as-code.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server administration.
- A methodical, troubleshooting mindset and clear communication in English.
Nice to have:
- VMware certifications (VCP-DCV / VCAP), Veeam or Citrix/Horizon Certifications.
- Experience with additional virtualization or hypervisor technologies (Proxmox, Hyper-V, KVM).
- Exposure to containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, VKS, Docker).
- Experience with backup and DR tooling (Veeam, Zerto, or similar) and SAN storage platforms.
- Knowledge of monitoring/observability tooling (Aria Suite, Veeam One, Grafana, Zabbix).
- Experience in regulated or high-availability environments.
We will offer you a friendly and dynamic working environment, in which you can develop your skills and competencies and a workplace with a strong focus on values and work-life balance.
