This position ensures that lab spaces are clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary materials and that equipment is properly maintained and ready for use. The technician supports scientists by preparing materials, managing inventory, and assisting with basic technical tasks.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCommunicate clearly and professionally with customers, both verbally and in writing.\nCollaborate with team members to complete routine tasks that ensure lab and equipment readiness.\nMonitor and replenish laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables.\nPrepare and set up equipment and materials for experiments or instructional labs.\nClean and sterilize glassware, instruments, and workspaces.\nPerform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.\nReceive, label, and store incoming materials.\nMaintain accurate inventory records and report low stock or equipment issues.\nEnsure compliance with lab safety protocols and assist with safety inspections.\nDispose of chemical and biological waste in accordance with regulations.\nProvide basic troubleshooting support and guidance on equipment use.\nEscalate issues promptly to supervisors.\nSupport team goals and contribute to a collaborative work environment.\nEscort and coordinate with vendors visiting lab areas.\nFollow documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for lab tasks.\nAssist with service work orders and coordinate maintenance and service events with scientists and key personnel.\nSupport communication efforts, including posting signs and forwarding relevant emails.\nNote: This job description does not restrict management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time.\nCompetencies:\nCritical Skills:\nTakes ownership of tasks and drives them to completion\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset\nStrong attention to detail required\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to follow oral and written instructions accurately.\nIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).\nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\n1-2 years’ experience in a customer facing role\nPreferred Qualifications:\n2+ years of experience in a scientific or laboratory environment.\nAssociate degree or professional certification in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Six Sigma, Business Administration, Supply Chain).\nBasic understanding of GLP/GxP and experience in a compliance-driven environment.\nFamiliarity with 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).\nKnowledge of chemical handling and safety practices.\nBasic understanding of Occupational Health and Safety standards\nAbility to read and interpret chemical labels and safety signage.\nFamiliarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $ 40,000 to $50,000.
