This onsite leadership role is responsible for positioning the team to provide the best laboratory support coordination service to research groups as is possible and enable smooth facilitation and function of the working environment.\nThe hours for this position are 12 - 8 pm\nLocation: Collegeville, PA\nSupervisory\nAct as first-line supervisor to team members and provide coaching, performance reviews, regular 1 on 1 meets and other administrative functions. The leader will also interface with Site Leader to ensure key customer contacts and customer satisfaction is at a high-level.\nLead the Laboratory Support Coordinator (LSC) team to ensure the delivery of uninterrupted service to the customers. To accomplish this, the individual must drive operational excellence by strategically managing resources as well as identifying areas of improvement.\nWork in accordance with all regulations and requirements for each customer site and/or department following GxP guidelines for ways of working and process documentation.\nResponsible for the coordination of training of all Lab Support Coordinators (LSC)\nEnsure adequate planning and coordination of team coverage to meet customer needs and achieve established operational metrics (e.g., PTO, Sick)\nAct as a liaison between on-site staff and management to escalate critical issues.\nAttend floor/building oversight meetings.\nFacilitate regular LSC meetings/huddles\nParticipate in the interview panel for all LSC hires.\nPlan and execute continuous improvement projects within the LSC team, including mentoring and assisting with Six Sigma Belts or 5S projects\nPerform other reasonable duties as deemed necessary.\nLaboratory Support Responsibilities\nTo provide a general induction/orientation for new members of staff and visitors. \nTo provide coordination of a 5S lean service.\nTo work with Customer and PerkinElmer staff to ensure quality and compliance within the laboratory.\nTo be the first line of support for infrastructure, engineering, purchasing, IT and other service providers; reporting of faults and ensuring these are closed out in a timely manner, i.e. to act as a single point of contact and help ensure minimal disruption. \nMeet regularly with laboratory service providers to ensure open lines of communication.\nMeet regularly with key stakeholders (lab staff, service providers, management) to identify, review and resolve issues in a timely manner and/or escalate as necessary.\nTo be point of contact for equipment maintenance in liaison with Asset Management team and customer lab staff, facilitating scheduling and escorting of engineering visits for maintenance and/or repair.\nTo help coordinate and oversee lab stocks in liaison with site stores. Ensures appropriate tracking and safe delivery and storage of goods in the lab.\nTo help coordinate the working environment with lab staff and PerkinElmer e.g. lab space, availability of PPE, and removal of redundant equipment, etc.\nTo work in collaboration with Customer line safety reps to ensure a high level of safety is maintained in the lab.\nTo coordinate the provision of lab services (e.g., gases/LN2/dry ice/deep cleans) by liaison with lab support services staff.\nTo provide timely communication to lab users on impact of any site service work.\nNothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities of this job at any time\nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma/GED\n3+ years of experience in a customer facing role\nMinimum of 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role leading others and delivering administrative functions (i.e., Performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.)\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline including military experience. Business or Management Degree also meets criteria.\nExperience working in a research laboratory environment.\nKnowledge of laboratory safety practices as defined by the Company and/or the customer’s site safety code.\nAbility to operate a personal computer to enter data and generate reports, ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, managers, customers, and other technical support professionals is critical to successful performance in this role\nDemonstrated Leadership Skills.\nKnowledge of 5S principles.\nWorking understanding of GLP/GxP.\nExperience of working in a compliance driven environment. \nCritical Skills:\nDemonstrates appropriate use of relevant equipment/software after training\nExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills\nTechnical problem-solving skills and attention to detail\nExcellent customer service skills complimented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests.\nAptitude for technical and practical matters.\nMS Office Skills: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word. \nPhysical Demands:\nMust be able to remains in a stationary position more than 25% of the time\nThe person in this position needs to occasionally move inside and outside labs\nOccasionally operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function.\nRegularly move or lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 100 pounds \nSpecific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the instrument), distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position.\nFrequently operates a computer and other office equipment (i.e. multi-function machine)\nWorking Environment\nJob pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.\nEnsure safety, security, and the environment in all aspect of the daily activities, and any potential safety hazards are addressed and corrected immediately.\nUnderstand ergonomic relationship between people, equipment and working environment\nThe annual compensation range for this full-time position is $70,000 to $90,000.
