In addition to managing assigned commodities and suppliers, the position supports the Purchasing Manager in driving site purchasing KPIs, operational improvements, stakeholder collaboration, and team development initiatives.\nThe role requires strong operational purchasing expertise, analytical capability, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence and support team performance across the site.\nResponsibilities\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong strategic thinking, technical sourcing expertise, and the ability to influence decisions across a highly matrixed global organization.\nOperational Purchasing Management\nManage purchasing activities for assigned commodities and suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, timely delivery, and operational efficiency.\nExecute and monitor procurement activities including purchase order management, supplier follow-up, expediting, and issue resolution for critical materials.\nEnsure purchasing activities are aligned with production requirements, inventory targets, and business priorities.\nSupport daily operational procurement activities and resolve material-related issues in a timely manner.\nSupplier Performance Management\nMonitor and manage supplier performance for assigned suppliers, including delivery performance, responsiveness, quality, and service support.\nLead or support supplier performance improvement initiatives such as On-Time Delivery (OTD) improvement programs and corrective action follow-up.\nWork with team members and suppliers to identify and mitigate supply risks impacting operations.\nInventory Control & Material Planning Support\nSupport inventory control initiatives to improve inventory health, minimize shortages, and reduce excess or ageing inventory.\nDrive inventory improvement projects across the purchasing team through data analysis and process recommendations.\nProvide input and recommendations on inventory control settings such as min/max levels, safety stock, and planning parameters.\nCollaborate with planners and production teams to support material readiness and assess supply impact on production output.\nSIOP & Cross-Functional Participation\nParticipate in SIOP and operational meetings as the purchasing representative for the site.\nHighlight material supply concerns, procurement risks, and planning gaps that may impact production and customer commitments.\nCollaborate closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support operational priorities and business continuity.\nNPI, EOP & Engineering Change Support\nSupport New Product Introduction (NPI), End-of-Production (EOP), and Engineering Change activities to ensure smooth material transition and supply readiness.\nCoordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on material changes, transition plans, and inventory impact assessments.\nProcurement Analytics & Reporting\nPrepare and analyze site-level purchasing KPIs, operational reports, and procurement dashboards.\nUtilize available data and reporting tools to identify trends, derive insights, and support improvement actions across the purchasing team.\nSupport reporting activities related to shortages, ageing PRs, CTB reports, waterfall analysis, inventory trends, and supplier performance metrics.\nProcurement Process Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, workflows, reporting methods, and operational efficiency.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving cycle time, and enhancing purchasing effectiveness.\nProvide proactive recommendations on process, tools, and system enhancements to improve procurement operations.\nTeam Support & Capability Development\nAct as a senior technical resource within the purchasing team by providing guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to team members.\nSupport the Purchasing Manager in strengthening team capabilities, succession planning, and operational development initiatives.\nContribute to business continuity planning (BCP) and operational risk mitigation activities where required.\nStakeholder Management\nRepresent the purchasing team in site meetings, operational reviews, and cross-functional discussions.\nBuild and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support business objectives and operational performance\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.\nMinimum 5-7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.\nStrong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, inventory control, supplier management, and procurement operations.\nExperience in KPI reporting, operational analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.\nDemonstrated ability to lead initiatives, coach team members, and support operational improvements.\nStrong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management
