This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of site assets, utilities and infrastructure while developing a high-performing engineering team.\nThe Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the site's Maintenance, Reliability, Facilities and Utilities functions, ensuring all manufacturing assets, infrastructure and engineering services operate safely, compliantly and reliably in support of site objectives. The role provides both strategic and operational leadership across the engineering support organisation, driving asset reliability, maintenance excellence, engineering compliance, facilities performance and continuous improvement. The Engineering Manager will develop and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, safety and continuous improvement while ensuring that engineering resources are effectively deployed to maximise equipment availability, minimise downtime and support manufacturing performance.\nScope of the Role\nLeadership & People Development\nLead, develop and motivate a multi-disciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.\nCoach and develop engineering leaders and technical specialists, building capability and succession plans for the future.\nEnsure engineering resources are effectively planned and deployed to meet business priorities.\nPromote strong cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Quality, EHS and Operational Excellence teams.\nAct as a visible role model for safety, compliance and company values.\nMaintenance & Reliability\nDevelop and deliver the site maintenance and reliability strategy to maximise equipment performance and asset availability.\nLead preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes, ensuring effective planning and execution.\nDrive reliability improvements through root cause analysis, defect elimination and continuous improvement methodologies.\nLead investigations into significant equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.\nManage maintenance systems and asset lifecycle processes to optimise performance, reduce downtime and support future business needs.\nProvide engineering support for validation activities, capital projects and new product introductions.\nFacilities & Utilities\nEnsure safe, reliable and compliant operation of all site facilities and utility systems, including HVAC, electrical systems, compressed air, water systems and building services.\nDevelop long-term infrastructure and asset replacement plans to support business growth and operational resilience.\nManage engineering contractors and service providers to deliver high standards of performance, compliance and value.\nCompliance, Quality & Safety\nEnsure engineering activities comply with GMP, Health & Safety, Environmental and regulatory requirements.\nMaintain inspection readiness and support audits, regulatory inspections and customer assessments.\nSupport engineering-related investigations, CAPAs, deviations and change controls.\nChampion robust engineering standards, contractor management and safe systems of work.\nFinancial & Operational Performance\nManage engineering budgets, maintenance expenditure and service contracts.\nIdentify and deliver cost and efficiency improvements while maintaining compliance, safety and reliability standards.\nUse engineering performance data and KPIs to drive operational excellence and informed decision-making.\nWhat We're Looking For\nProven engineering leadership experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.\nStrong background in maintenance, reliability and facilities management.\nExperience leading engineering teams and driving a culture of continuous improvement.\nSound knowledge of GMP, Health & Safety and engineering compliance requirements.\nExcellent stakeholder management, problem-solving and people development skills.\nExperience Required\nEssential Qualifications\nDegree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering.\nProven leadership experience managing engineering, maintenance and facilities teams within a manufacturing environment. Desirable Qualifications\nChartered Engineer (CEng). • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt. • Reliability, Asset Management or Leadership qualification.\nExperience\nSignificant experience leading maintenance, reliability and facilities functions in a regulated manufacturing environment.\nProven track record of improving equipment reliability, asset performance and maintenance effectiveness.\nExperience managing engineering budgets, contractors and service providers.\nStrong knowledge of preventative, predictive and reliability-centred maintenance practices.\nExperience supporting audits, inspections and engineering compliance activities.
