Dark Matter Engineering Managers are expected to be hands-on with the company source code, developing alongside their direct reports.\nKey Responsibilities\nPeople Leadership\nLead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers.\nDevelop solutions to satisfy the company’s software uses cases.\nConduct performance evaluations, career development planning, and regular coaching conversations.\nSupport workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, and talent retention activities.\nBuild a high-performing engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.\nIdentify future technical and leadership talent within the organization.\nEngineering Delivery\nManage the execution and delivery of software initiatives, product enhancements, and strategic modernization efforts.\nPartner with Product Management to establish priorities, roadmaps, and delivery commitments.\nEnsure engineering teams adhere to established development standards, security requirements, and quality expectations.\nMonitor team capacity, sprint execution, delivery metrics, and operational health.\nRemove blockers and proactively address risks that may impact delivery timelines.\nTechnical Leadership\nGuide architectural and technical decision-making within the team.\nPromote engineering best practices including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure software development.\nCollaborate with architects and senior technical leaders on modernization and platform strategies.\nEnsure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.\nSupport incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.\nOrganizational Leadership\nPartner with cross-functional leaders across Engineering, QA, Product, Operations, Security, and Client Services.\nDrive continuous process improvement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and customer outcomes.\nCommunicate project status, risks, and team performance to senior leadership.\nContribute to department planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n7+ years of software engineering experience.\n2+ years of technical leadership, supervisory, team lead, or management experience.\nEmbraces an AI-First mentality when it comes to software development\nDemonstrated experience delivering enterprise software solutions.\nStrong understanding of software architecture, software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and engineering best practices.\nExperience managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.\nStrong people leadership, coaching, and organizational development skills.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Microsoft .NET technologies including C#, ASP.NET, and Web APIs.\nExperience with Angular\nExperience with AI-Assist development tools.
