This role is responsible for leading quality assurance activities across multiple products and initiatives, ensuring software solutions meet functional, performance, reliability, and customer expectations.\nThe Senior QA Engineer / Analyst serves as a quality leader within Agile delivery teams and is expected to work independently while partnering closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, and DevOps teams. This role participates in test strategy development, test automation initiatives, defect prevention efforts, and continuous improvement programs that improve overall software quality and delivery efficiency.\nThe Senior QA Engineer / Analyst also provides mentoring and guidance to junior QA engineers while helping drive adoption of quality engineering best practices across the organization.\nThe position aligns to Dark Matter's QA career ladder between QA Engineer / Analyst and Staff QA Engineer / Analyst.\nKey Responsibilities\nQuality Leadership\nLead testing efforts for complex software projects, releases, and strategic initiatives.\nDevelop comprehensive test strategies and execution plans for assigned product areas.\nEvaluate business and technical requirements to identify quality risks and testing needs.\nChampion quality engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.\nParticipate in release readiness reviews and production deployment validations.\nTest Planning & Execution\nDesign, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases.\nPerform functional, integration, regression, API, system, and end-to-end testing.\nCreate and maintain test plans, test scripts, test data, and testing documentation.\nAnalyze test results and communicate quality status to stakeholders.\nEnsure comprehensive validation of new features, enhancements, integrations, and defect fixes.\nDefect Management & Quality Improvement\nIdentify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution.\nConduct root cause analysis for production and UAT defects.\nCollaborate with development teams to improve defect prevention and early quality detection.\nAnalyze recurring quality trends and recommend corrective actions.\nSupport continuous process and quality improvements.\nTest Automation\nDevelop and maintain automated testing assets and regression suites.\nExpand test automation coverage across applications and services.\nPartner with engineering teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.\nIdentify opportunities to increase testing efficiency through automation and tooling.\nCollaboration & Mentorship\nPartner with engineering, product, architecture, and operations teams throughout project lifecycles.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies including planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.\nProvide guidance and mentoring to QA Engineers / Analysts and junior team members.\nPromote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n5+ years of software quality assurance, software testing, or quality engineering experience.\nEmbraces an AI-First mentality when it comes to software testing\nStrong understanding of Agile development methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.\nExperience developing and executing comprehensive test strategies and plans.\nExperience with manual and automated testing methodologies.\nStrong defect analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.\nExperience working with test management and defect tracking tools.\nExperience validating APIs, databases, integrations, and enterprise applications.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with automated testing frameworks and quality engineering tools.\nExperience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or comparable Agile work management platforms.\nExperience with API testing tools such as Postman.\nSQL and database validation experience.\nExperience supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.\nKnowledge of performance, load, and reliability testing concepts.\nExperience within mortgage technology, fintech, banking, or financial services environments.\nExperience mentoring QA teams.\nPlaywright, JavaScript, Selenium WebDriver, C#, Page Object actions for critical issues.\nDemonstrate deep understanding of Dark Matter products and business workflows.\nServe as a trusted quality advisor to Engineering and Product teams.\nMentor junior QA
