The role ensures payroll records, earnings, statutory deductions, overtime, leave, employee changes and other payroll inputs are accurately captured, verified and processed in accordance with company policies, Tanzanian statutory requirements and internal controls. The position also supports payroll reporting, audits, employee payroll queries, pension submissions and continuous improvement of payroll processes, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nWork with the Accounts Payable and Payroll Superintendent to:\n\nReview and verify payroll source documents.\n\nPrepare and print payroll reports of earnings, hours worked, taxes, insurance, leave.\n\nDevelop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records.\n\nMaintain a detailed annual payroll calendar of key payroll related tasks and due dates for planning purposes.\n\nVerify all payroll changes, updates, and overtime into the payroll software system, ensuring the accuracy of the information entered.\n\nEffect change note as required.\n\nEnsure that all changes to payroll system are authorized as required.\n\nEnsure that all changes to payroll system are authorized as required.\n\nEnsuring compliance with tax regulations and company policies.\n\nEnsure that all statutory and applicable deductions are captured to payroll system\n\nEnsure that employees are paid correctly and on time.\n\nResolve all payroll related complaints\n\nEnsure all new employees are correctly and timely captured\n\nEnsure updated payroll record are timely sent to pension funds\n\nInternal Controls\n\nAdvertisement\n\nInstituting and overseeing an effective system of internal controls relating to payroll.\n\nContinuous check on the compliance level and communicate to the Financial Controller on any weaknesses identified and recommendations.\n\nThe finance function is extremely important with regards to this risk area as it is the key medium between the procurement of goods or services and the ultimate payment to suppliers.\n\nAudit\n\nResponding to the queries raised i.e., provide support documents, information requested etc\n\nRisk Management\n\nEnsure Risk Minimisation strategies are in place.\n\nAll company assets are accounted for\n\nAssist with Insurance for company assets.\n\nRecommended Education Level\n\nBachelor of Commerce/ Bachelor of Accounting and Finance\n\nQualified Accountant (CPA-T) by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors Tanzania (NBAA) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) will be an added advantage.\n\nExperience\n\nThree years of experience in payroll process.\n\nExperience in handling complex payroll for not less than 300 employees (full time and casual).\n\nKnowledge and Skill\n\nAdvertisement\n\nReasonably independent and able to resolve own difficulties\n\nExcellent knowledge of Group and local reporting requirements and accounting practices.\n\nExcellent knowledge internal control requirement.\n\nGood knowledge of payroll software and computer based financial accounting systems.\n\nTotally honest and trustworthy.\n\nMeticulous attention to detail.\n\nTake responsibility to adhere to company procedures.\n\nMust enjoy routine and take pride in producing accurate payroll outputs to meet deadlines on a regular basis.\n\nPositive and enthusiastic to improve financial accounting performance.\n\nAble to respond to heavy demands and high work pressure.\n\nTimeously.\n\nQualifications & Licences:\n\nBachelor of Commerce/ Bachelor of Accounting and Finance\n\nQualified Accountant (CPA-T) by the National Board of Accountants and
