As a Systems Engineer supporting our Air Force Communication System Programs, you will be a critical member of the Persistent Program Team. You will create, modify, and maintain system-level mechanical drawings and assemblies using SolidWorks. You will support and facilitate system integration of Persistent Systems’ products, test planning and execution, report generation and delivery, and responses to RFIs and RFPs. You will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges and new requirements to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. This role requires excellent communication skills as you will be required to work across the entire Persistent Systems team including Sales, Field Operations, Programs Management, Engineering, and Quality to provide customer solutions.\nPosition Responsibilities\nMaintain an expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to build customer relationships through interpreting and developing their requirements \nCreate, modify, and maintain system-level mechanical drawings and assemblies using SolidWorks. \nDevelop system layouts, interface drawings, installation drawings, and other engineering drawings as required. \nCreate, maintain, and update Interface Control Documents (ICDs) defining mechanical, electrical, physical, functional, and/or system interfaces. \nCoordinate with engineering disciplines and external/internal stakeholders to identify, define, and resolve system interface requirements. \nPrepare, update, review, and maintain Government CDRLs and other contractually required engineering documentation. \nSupport the development and maintenance of system specifications, requirements documentation, technical reports, design documentation, and engineering analyses. \nAssist with system architecture, functional decomposition, requirements allocation, and technical baseline development. \nIntegrate Persistent Systems products to meet complex system requirements \nDevelop and carry out test procedures that determine that the outcome of the integration has met the requirements \nConvey system integration progress to the management team, and escalate issues and concerns expediently \nIdentifying short-term and long-term customer issues; provide information and data pertinent to deliberations, and recommending options and courses of action \nConduct Root Cause analysis to troubleshoot customers’ integrated system issues and collaborate with the product development and test engineers to resolve technical issues. \nDeveloping test plans, methodologies followed by final reports and summaries for both internal developers and external customers \nDefining integration strategies and methods and then planning them in accordance with established deadlines and time schedules \nCreating and providing technical documentation that explains upcoming or existing integrations to non-technical individuals \nDeveloping technical portions of responses to RFI / RFP and other similar customer requirements \nJob Qualifications & Experience\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline. \n4 years of experience with SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent 3D modeling programs \nExperience creating and interpreting engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation. \nAbility to develop and maintain technical documentation such as ICDs, specifications, interface drawings, and engineering reports. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple engineering deliverables and priorities. \nExperience with RF communications and/or network system integration \nProficiency in data collection and analysis \nProficiency in technical concepts such as wireless, mobile IP, RF propagation with an understanding of hardware and software concepts \nUnderstanding of product development and systems architecture design \nExperience working directly with customers and end users \nStrong interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal \nMust be available to travel up to 25% of the time \nAbility to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance \nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering \nExperience with ANSI/ASME Y14.100-200 Engineering Drawing Practices \nExperience working on U.S. Government or Department of Defense programs. \nExperience preparing or maintaining Government CDRLs. \nFamiliarity with MIL-STD and other government engineering standards and requirements. \nExperience developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs). \nNet+ or Sec+ certifications \nExperience with RF mapping and planning tools such as Cloud RF \nExperience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts \nProficiency in advanced technical software packages such as Wireshark and/or MATLAB \nPossess an active Secret US Security Clearance \nThe pay for this role can vary from $117,000 to $146,000 a year based on the selected individual's education and experience.
