The Mechanical Engineer will have various responsibilities including product design, process design, and quality control for our Wave Relay® products.\nPosition Responsibilities\nDevelop concept, assembly level layout, and detail design documentation with necessary supporting documentation and analysis\nPerform thermal analysis on designs involving multiple heat sources and optimize design for thermal dissipation.\nDesign mechanical enclosures for electronic devices including internal cable harnesses\nProduce design models, drawing details, assembly drawings, and associated engineering documentation with 3D parametric modeling software\nDesign cable harnesses including wiring schematics and proper EMI shielding\nIdentify appropriate tolerances and GD&T to satisfy the design requirement and manufacturing\nUse mechanical engineering principles and concepts to solve problems related to product development, manufacturing, and design\nProvide input into applicable sections of project plans and work to execute tasks to plan\nConduct design review with different groups inside of the company\nWork together with principal designers and engineers to develop designs and solutions\nCreate, edit, and manage models/drawings in a controlled document database\nLead, support, and facilitate preventative and corrective quality actions\nConduct both mechanical and electrical verification testing\nLead, support, and facilitate transfer to production of new products, materials and/or processes\nParticipate in special projects and perform other duties as required\nJob Qualifications & Experience\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience\n1 year of experience with SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent 3D modeling programs\n1 year of experience performing thermal modeling\n1 year of experience with designing parts for manufacturing/fabrication\nExperience in the design of electronics packaging\nKnowledge of methods of fabrication including machining, casting, and injection molding\nExperience with measuring devices such as test apparatus, data collection systems, gauges, micrometers, and optical comparators\nExperience with material selection including fasteners, torque, and environmental seal\nExperience with environmental testing: Thermal, vibration, Shock, EMI etc.\nMust have a US security clearance or the ability to obtain a US security clearance\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working with machine shop and other fabrication suppliers\nFamiliarity with designing for environmental MIL-STD-810 and EMI performance MIL-STD-461\nISO9001:2008 quality system experience (operations, procedures, documentation)\nThe base pay for this role can vary from $117,000 to $130,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
