As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you’re the person teammates trust to get complex pipeline work right - designing, building, and operating the pipelines, transformations, and data quality systems that Reporting & Analytics depend on every day. You own your work from design through production, and you build it in ways others can reuse.\nWhat You'll Actually Do\nDesign and build scalable data pipelines: Develop and operate pipelines that move data from product systems into the data lake reliably and at scale.\nBuild and maintain curated datasets: Construct and sustain large-scale transformations and curated datasets on open table formats consumed by Reporting & Analytics.\nImplement data quality and monitoring: Build data quality checks, freshness monitoring, alerting, and lineage so problems are caught before users notice them.\nApply PII/PHI security and privacy controls: Implement access management, masking, encryption, and auditability across the platform to meet regulatory requirements.\nOnboard new data sources: Bring new product delivery team data sources onto the platform cleanly and quickly, defining the data contracts behind them.\nTune performance and manage cloud cost: Optimize pipeline and table performance while monitoring and controlling cloud infrastructure costs.\nContribute to design and code reviews: Participate in architecture and code reviews, sharing knowledge and raising the technical quality of the team’s output.\nSupport on-call and incident response: Share on-call responsibility for the platform and respond to incidents with urgency and thoroughness.\nQualifications\nWhat You Bring to Our Team\nEducation & Experience\n5+ years in data or software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on data platforms or big data\nProduction experience building and running data systems at real scale\nExperience in healthcare, benefits, insurance, or another regulated industry a plus\nTechnical Skills\nHeavy hands-on experience with large-scale data transformation\nStrong experience building and operating data pipelines and data lakes\nHands-on experience with open table formats - Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake - including schema evolution, partitioning, and time travel\nSolid experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or similar\nPractical experience with data governance covering data quality, PII/PHI handling, and freshness monitoring\nStrong SQL and Python proficiency\nApache Spark experience preferred\nApache Kafka and event-driven architecture experience preferred\nExperience with distributed systems and microservices as data producers preferrd\nOur Commitment: Personify Health is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
