As Tech Lead, you’ll set the technical direction for some of our most strategic platform initiatives while staying hands-on in the code. You’ll define engineering standards, guide modernization, and shape how data moves across the ecosystem that supports health and benefits for our members and clients.\nWhat You’ll Actually Do\nSet technical direction: Define architecture, patterns, and engineering standards for platform initiatives, and lead design reviews that balance near-term business needs against long-term platform goals.\nBuild data and integration systems: Design, develop, and maintain services, pipelines, and APIs that move data reliably across multiple systems, with a focus on performance, resiliency, and scale.\nModernize the platform: Lead initiatives that simplify architecture and reduce technical debt. Consolidate duplicated functionality and standardize patterns across the platform.\nStrengthen production reliability: Establish practices for observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Lead root cause investigations and drive the long-term fixes that keep production stable.\nMentor engineers: Coach engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on problem solving.\nAlign across teams: Work with engineering leaders, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to connect technical solutions to organizational objectives on cross-functional initiatives.\nUntangle complex problems: Lead the investigation and resolution of technical issues that span multiple applications, services, integrations, and data flows.\nQualifications\nWhat You Bring to Our Team\nEducation & Experience\n7+ years of software engineering experience\n2+ years as a technical lead or senior technical contributor\nExperience designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems\nExperience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams\nExperience in healthcare, benefits, wellbeing, or related regulated industries (preferred)\nTechnical Skills\nBackend development in Java, Kotlin, .NET, Python, or similar technologies\nScalable APIs, backend services, and cloud-native applications\nData processing, ingestion, transformation, and integration patterns\nAWS-based architectures and services\nObservability, monitoring, logging, and platform reliability practices\nLarge-scale data platforms or integration-heavy systems (preferred)\nPlatform modernization and architectural transformation (preferred)\nEvent-driven architectures and distributed processing models (preferred)\nDeveloper productivity automation and tooling (preferred)\nAI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows (preferred)\nOur Commitment: Personify Health is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
