Together, we support thousands of local animal welfare groups nationwide and have helped find homes for approximately 7 million animals through in-store adoption events.\nEssential Job Functions\nThe partner must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:\nBuild, maintain, and distribute recurring risk and claims reporting - loss runs, frequency and severity trending, claim aging, reserve movement, litigation inventory, and total cost of risk dashboards - for internal leadership and external partners.\nTrack retained and out-of-pocket losses falling below deductible or within self-insured retention, including store-level losses paid outside the TPA, and report retained-loss totals on a defined cadence.\nCompile and validate exposure data for the annual renewal cycle - statements of values, payroll, revenue, fleet schedules, store counts, and supplemental applications - and deliver complete data packages against the renewal calendar.\nSupport subrogation and recovery efforts by assembling loss documentation, incident records, and supporting evidence packages, and by tracking recovery status and realized dollars.\nAssemble data for actuarial reviews, allocation exercises, and audit requests.\nLead the design, development, and maintenance of the team’s SharePoint site, including claims, certificates of insurance, policy summaries, and other educational resources.\nDocument and continuously improve recurring risk processes, including written procedures and training materials, with an explicit goal of automating or eliminating manual steps.\nPerform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.\nBehavioral Competencies\nAttention to Detail: Ensures accuracy when reviewing loss data, exposure schedules (SOVs), invoices, and contract terms.\nFollow-Through & Accountability: Tracks open items, claims inquiries, and documentation through to resolution; follows up proactively with internal teams, adjusters, and outside partners without requiring reminders.\nResourcefulness: Navigates the business environment effectively to identify the right contacts, resolve ambiguous requests, and bridge communications between internal and external stakeholders.\nProcess Documentation: Consistently documents workflows, systems steps, and procedures during daily execution to maintain clear, up-to-date SOPs.\nEducation / Experience\nBachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Analytics, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.\nMinimum five (5) years of experience in risk management, insurance, claims, or analytics support, preferably in a corporate risk, brokerage, or TPA environment.\nAdvanced Excel required (pivot tables, lookups, large-data manipulation); experience with Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, or a comparable reporting tool strongly preferred.\nExperience with a RMIS, claims system, or structured claims data preferred.\nDemonstrated ability to manage high-volume recurring workflows with accuracy and without prompting.\nStrong organizational skills and comfort operating with confidential and sensitive information.\nARM or progress toward an insurance designation preferred.\nPetco Animal Supplies, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
