Together, we support thousands of local animal welfare groups nationwide and have helped find homes for approximately 7 million animals through in-store adoption events.\nAs a Sr. Digital UX/UI Designer, you are responsible for designing intuitive, engaging, and seamless digital experiences for Petco’s consumer-facing platforms across multiple touchpoints. This role combines hands-on design execution with a strong focus on improving user journeys through data-driven insights, iteration, and cross-functional collaboration.\nEssential Job Functions\nLead the creation of intuitive, user-centered digital experiences for customer-facing ecommerce journeys and internal operational tools.\n\nDesign user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI designs\n\nLead and contribute to ecommerce funnel improvements (landing, PDP, cart, checkout, post-purchase) by helping identify friction points and implementing iterative design enhancements.\n\nLead and participate in discovery activities, including stakeholder meetings, competitive research, and basic user research to inform design decisions.\n\nCollaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineering, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into thoughtful design solutions.\n\nIterate on designs based on feedback from fellow designers, stakeholders, usability testing, and performance data.\n\nSupport A/B testing and experimentation efforts by preparing design variations and documenting hypotheses.\n\nContribute and apply established design systems, component libraries, and brand guidelines to ensure consistency across experiences.\n\nPrepare clear design documentation and specifications for engineering handoff.\n\nPresent work to internal teams with guidance, articulating design decisions and incorporating feedback constructively.\n\nManage assigned tasks effectively while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\n\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\nDegree or certification in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\n5+ years of digital design experience (web, ecommerce, SaaS, or similar environments)\n\nFoundational understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and responsive design.\n\nExperience creating wireframes and prototypes using modern design tools (Figma preferred).\n\nFamiliarity with the end-to-end product design process, with hands-on experience contributing to shipped features.\n\nComfort working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.\n\nUnderstanding of conversion rate optimization and data-informed design practices.\n\nWorking knowledge of accessibility and usability best practices.\n\nExposure to design systems, style guides, or pattern libraries.\n\nNice to Have:\nExperience supporting ecommerce projects or internal tools.\n\nFamiliarity with analytics tools and user behavior insights.\n\nBasic understanding of front-end development concepts (HTML/CSS).\n\nExperience with AI prototyping and usability testing methods.\n\nQualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.\nPetco Animal Supplies, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
