You’ll set the technical direction for your area and help raise the bar for the engineers around you. You’ll work closely with Product, Design and other engineering teams, and you may move between product areas as the business grows.\nWhat you’ll do:\n-Design, build and scale backend services and APIs, following our API standards\n-Own features end to end, from shaping requirements with Product to running them in production\n-Design and optimize data models, queries and transactions, and use caching well, under real production load\n-Build reliable integrations with external partners and third-party systems\n-Deliver features across the stack, including Angular (TypeScript) frontends when needed\n-Write design docs and ADRs, and drive technical decisions in your area\n-Raise quality through code reviews, automated testing and observability\n-Take part in on-call and incident response, and lead fixes to root causes\n-Mentor engineers and help shape team practices\nRequirements\n6+ years of software engineering experience, mostly backend\nDeep expertise in at least one backend language and its ecosystem (e.g. PHP, Java, Go, Node.js, Python, C#), plus the ability to pick up new ones quickly\nStrong grasp of backend fundamentals: API design, distributed systems, async processing and queues, and caching\nStrong relational database experience (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL), including transactions, locking and concurrency\nExperience building and running high-traffic or transaction-heavy systems in production\nWorking proficiency with a modern frontend framework, ideally Angular, Vue, and TypeScript\nA track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring
