This role is responsible for operating in a manner that will optimize the organization’s efficiency and help achieve daily and weekly delivery goals including driving to and from designated locations, verifying loads, maintaining record of duty status according to state and federal regulations, and performing pre-trip and post trip inspections.\n\nOverview of Responsibilities:\nDrive truck to and from designated destinations.\nApply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather.\nInspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip.\nCheck shipping papers to determine the nature of load and verify for accuracy.\nOperate equipment in all types of weather and conditions including going forward and backing up long distances, around corners, and in and around very tight areas. \nMay be responsible for unloading materials, equipment, etc. from truck utilizing forklift.\nPerform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, read maps, road signs, maintain record of duty status.\nReport all accidents, incidents, and highway safety hazards involving drivers or company equipment. \nPromptly report and delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies or in the event of irregularities relating to pick-up or delivery of cargo.\nMaintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver’s record of duty status, mileage records and other records required by law.\nPerform all duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operations of a commercial motor vehicle. \n\nRequirements:\nThree to five (3-5) years of commercial driving experience, preferred. \nMust have experience hauling oversize and overweight loads\nOne to two (1-2) years of commercial driving experience and certification of completing a training program from an accredited commercial driving school.\nOne (1) or more years of experience operating a forklift.\nPossess and maintain a valid CDL, Class A license.\nMust have experience operating oilfield winch trucks and trailers\nMust be willing to stay on the road multiple days at a time\nMust be able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, pull, lift, carry and push equipment/tools required to do the job, weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds.\nMust have the ability to read and write English language.\nMust have knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems, DOT regulations, inspection, and maintenance practices.\nMust meet medical standards of the U.S. Department of Transportation.\nMust satisfactorily pass a drug test and alcohol test as required by DOT regulation.\nHigh school diploma or GED, required.\n\nThis job description should not be interpreted as an exhaustive list of responsibilities or as an employment agreement between the employer and employee.
