As part of the Cell-Mediated Immunoassays (CMI) group, you will contribute to understanding immune responses that drive vaccine efficacy and safety.\nWhat You Will Achieve \nAs an Associate Scientist in the CMI group, you will play a critical role in generating high-quality cellular immunology data to support Pfizer’s clinical vaccine programs. The primary focus of this role is to execute clinical assays, primarily flow cytometry, with the potential to support additional assays such as ELISPOT and ADCC. Beyond routine testing, you will help drive operational excellence by applying 5S, automation, and process optimization to strengthen laboratory workflows.\nHow You Will Achieve It\nPerform high-throughput flow cytometry assays to characterize cellular immune responses \nSupport additional cellular immunoassays such as ELISPOT and ADCC as needed. \nMaintain compliance with GxP and internal SOPs for all laboratory activities \nSupport the qualification of new assays and ensure accurate documentation of experimental work \nDrive operational improvements, including 5S, laboratory automation, and process optimization, to increase the efficiency and robustness of testing workflows \nHelp uphold quality and compliance across CMI through sound documentation practices, data integrity, and audit-readiness \nPrepare reagents, maintain inventory, and manage sample workflows efficiently \nAnalyze and interpret assay results and present findings to team members and leadership \nCollaborate within the CMI group and cross-functionally to support vaccine development programs \nQualifications\nMust-Have\nBachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline w/ 0+ to 2 years of experience. \nHands-on laboratory experience in immunology or a related field \nAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment \nAbility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs \nScientific curiosity and a desire to continuously learn and expand technical expertise \nExperience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity.\nDemonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.\nNice-to-Have\nExperience with flow cytometry and understanding of its scientific principles \nKnowledge of immunology and cellular immune responses \nFamiliarity with ELISPOT, ADCC or other biofunctional assays \nUnderstanding of relevant statistics and data analysis \nExperience with laboratory automation and high-throughput workflows \nExperience with continuous improvement or Lean methodologies (e.g., 5S) \nFamiliarity with LIMS or other electronic laboratory systems \nExposure to mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques \nPrior experience in a clinical or regulated laboratory environment \nAI fluency, with interest in applying AI and digital tools to workflows \nWork Location Assignment: On Premise\nThe annual base salary for this position ranges from $60,200.00 to $100,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
