This approach combines flexibility with meaningful on-site engagement to support work-life balance, collaboration, agility, and innovation.\nThe Controllers Global Accounting (CGA) Senior Accountant is a key member of the Corporate Accounting organization, supporting accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance activities across a variety of accounting processes and business areas.\nWorking under general supervision, the Senior Accountant applies accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and analytical skills to support accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.\nThe Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet analyses, SOX controls, supporting schedules, and other required month-end and quarter-end close deliverables. The role analyzes financial data, investigates routine and moderately complex variances, researches accounting guidance, and supports the resolution of accounting and operational issues.\nThe Senior Accountant is expected to manage assigned deliverables, prioritize multiple responsibilities, proactively identify issues, and consistently meet reporting deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.\nThe role also supports a strong control environment through the execution of SOX controls, maintenance of process documentation, and adherence to internal policies and procedures. The Senior Accountant partners with cross-functional stakeholders, contributes to continuous improvement efforts, and participates in transformational initiatives designed to improve efficiency, standardization, and value creation across the organization.\nStandard Role Responsibilities\nIn this role, you will:\nMaintain accurate and organized accounting records, supporting documentation, work instructions, and required compliance documentation.\nPrepare and support journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet analyses, and month-end and quarter-end close deliverables.\nCommunicate effectively with peers, management, and business partners regarding deliverables, deadlines, and accounting matters.\nProactively identify issues, perform appropriate analysis, and communicate potential solutions and recommendations to management.\nEnsure activities are completed with a high standard of operational excellence and in accordance with established deadlines, service-level expectations, and process and control requirements.\nSupport the execution and documentation of SOX controls and maintain a strong commitment to the overall control and compliance environment.\nEngage directly with business partners on routine accounting, reporting, and operational activities and build effective working relationships.\nDevelop technical, accounting, business, and analytical capabilities while effectively managing time and priorities.\nParticipate in global initiatives, process improvements, automation opportunities, and transformational projects as needed.\nDevelop an understanding of the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of Pfizer’s financial processes and systems.\nPromote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and increase value-added activities.\nQualifications, Relevant Experience and Skills\nSolid understanding of accounting and finance principles.\nStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to analyze financial information, investigate variances, and identify potential issues.\nStrong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.\nSelf-motivated with the ability to take initiative and manage assigned responsibilities with limited guidance.\nAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines.\nEffective written, verbal, and presentation skills.\nAbility to communicate accounting and business matters clearly to a variety of stakeholders.\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective business partnerships with key stakeholders.\nStrong commitment to internal controls, compliance requirements, and documentation standards.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.\nAbility to learn and become proficient in new systems and technologies.\nWillingness and curiosity to continuously develop technical, accounting, business, and technology skills.\nGeneral understanding of business operations and end-to-end financial processes.\nAbility to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and develop practical solutions.\nMinimum Requirements\nApplicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience;
