The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor to the customer, work independently to troubleshoot complex issues, and provide knowledge transfer to customer system administrators.\nThe environment is based around an HPC solution, and training on the specific HPC system tools will be provided.\nResponsibilities\nPerform general system administration for a large-scale Linux cluster environment.\nMonitor and maintain overall system health and operational continuity.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex Linux system issues.\nRespond to customer requests and provide timely technical support.\nPlan, coordinate, and execute system upgrades.\nIdentify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.\nMaintain the security posture of systems operating on the customer network.\nProvide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to customer system administrators.\nBuild and maintain strong customer relationships while serving as a trusted technical advisor.\nStay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and relevant technical domains.\nIndependently develop and apply methods, techniques, and criteria to solve highly complex technical problems.\nRequirements\nActive Top Secret (TS) security clearance.\n10+ years of professional Linux system administration experience.\nDemonstrated experience supporting large-scale or clustered Linux environments.\nStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex Linux system issues.\nAbility to work independently in a highly technical and complex environment.\nStrong communication and customer-facing skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience administering large-scale Linux server fleets, preferably 100+ nodes.\nExperience with distributed job scheduling or orchestration platforms such as Slurm, PBS, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.\nExperience working in High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.\nExperience with parallel or distributed filesystems such as Lustre, GPFS, Ceph, or similar technologies.\nFamiliarity with clustered computing environments and enterprise-scale Linux infrastructure.\nRequired Certifications\nCompTIA Security+\nCompTIA Linux+\nAdditional Information\nThis is an onsite position at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. The position does not require routine travel. The selected candidate will work within an HPC environment and will receive training on the specific HPC system tools used by the customer.
