This position will play a key implementation and engineering role supporting the deployment of VCF across NIPR ISN, SIPR ISN, and other programs supporting AFLCMC/HNI and/or the 83rd NOS.\nThe enterprise architecture and overall design will be developed by the project’s Enterprise Architect. The Senior Virtualization Engineer will be responsible for helping implement that design and providing ongoing administration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and technical support across the VMware VCF environment.\nThis is a fully onsite position at Hanscom AFB and requires an active Secret clearance. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on knowledge of VMware technologies and the ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the implementation and deployment of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 within NIPR ISN, SIPR ISN, and other supported environments.\nTranslate enterprise architecture and technical designs into working VCF implementations.\nPerform administration, configuration, and maintenance of VMware VCF environments.\nSupport VCF upgrades, enhancements, patches, and other assigned lifecycle activities.\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues involving VMware virtualization and VCF technologies.\nAssist with the implementation of enterprise virtualization solutions in accordance with established technical designs and requirements.\nProvide ongoing technical support and administration for VMware environments.\nCollaborate with enterprise architects, engineers, administrators, and other project personnel to implement and maintain the environment.\nDocument technical activities, configurations, and relevant operational procedures as required.\nSupport additional VMware-related engineering and administrative tasks as assigned.\nRequirements\nExtensive hands-on knowledge and experience with VMware virtualization technologies.\nStrong understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).\nExperience implementing, administering, and supporting enterprise VMware environments.\nExperience supporting VMware upgrades and lifecycle management.\nActive Secret security clearance.\nVCP certification required.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical team.\nAbility to work onsite at Hanscom AFB, MA.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with VMware Cloud Foundation 9.\nExperience supporting virtualization environments within government or Department of Defense environments.\nExperience working with NIPR and/or SIPR environments.\nExperience supporting Air Force or other DoD mission environments.\nAdditional VMware certifications or advanced VMware expertise.\nWork Environment\nThis position is onsite at Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts. No travel is anticipated for this role.
