This role is responsible for the administration, security, performance, and availability of the virtualization environment, including desktop pools, access infrastructure, authentication integrations, and supporting VMware infrastructure.\nThe ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on experience managing production VMware Horizon environments, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to maintain secure, reliable, and well-documented infrastructure in a mission-critical environment.\nThis is a fully onsite position in Warner Robins, Georgia. Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance and CompTIA Security+ certification.\nKey Responsibilities\nVirtualization Environment Management\nAdminister and maintain the Omnissa Horizon and Workspace ONE environment, including Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateway, and supporting infrastructure components.\nDesign, deploy, configure, and maintain persistent and non-persistent Horizon desktop pools.\nManage Horizon licensing and ensure compliance with applicable licensing requirements.\nMaintain the reliability, availability, and performance of the virtual desktop environment.\nOperations and Maintenance\nPerform routine health checks and monitor Horizon infrastructure components.\nExecute software patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities while minimizing service disruptions.\nTroubleshoot and resolve login issues, session failures, connectivity problems, and other virtual desktop incidents.\nMonitor performance metrics and optimize resource allocation to maintain a reliable end-user experience.\nServe as a technical escalation point for complex Horizon-related incidents.\nSecurity and Compliance\nImplement and maintain security policies and controls within the Horizon environment.\nManage access controls and authentication integrations, including Active Directory, single sign-on (SSO), and multifactor authentication (MFA).\nEnsure compliance with organizational security standards and applicable requirements.\nConduct regular security audits and implement remediation measures as needed.\nDocumentation and Technical Support\nMaintain accurate architecture documentation, technical procedures, and operational runbooks.\nDocument change management procedures, maintenance activities, and disaster recovery plans.\nProvide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to support teams.\nCommunicate technical issues, risks, and resolutions effectively to stakeholders\nRequirements\n5+ years of hands-on experience administering and managing VMware Horizon environments in production.\nDeep technical knowledge of VMware Horizon 7.x and/or 8.x.\nExperience with Horizon display protocols, including PCoIP and Blast Extreme.\nHands-on experience deploying and managing Instant Clones and virtual desktop pools.\nStrong understanding of VMware vSphere, Active Directory, DNS, and storage fundamentals.\nExperience troubleshooting complex virtualization, authentication, desktop session, and connectivity issues.\nKnowledge of security controls, access management, and enterprise infrastructure best practices.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.\nActive TS/SCI security clearance.\nCurrent CompTIA Security+ certification.\nPreferred Qualifications\nVMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCAP-DCA).\nExperience with Omnissa Horizon Cloud Service or hybrid Horizon deployments.\nKnowledge of App Volumes and Dynamic Environment Manager.\nFamiliarity with automation and scripting tools, including PowerCLI and Ansible.\nUnderstanding of network requirements supporting Horizon environments, including firewall rules, load balancing, and GFE.\nPrevious experience serving as a subject matter expert (SME), technical lead, or senior virtualization administrator.\nBenefits\nOur comprehensive benefits package for full-time salaried employees is effective immediately upon the start date.
