# Plant Operator

Job Summary We are looking for a Plant Operator to work in and maintain a solvent distillation plant on behalf of a client in JHB - Eastern Suburbs. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with the technical maintenance and operation team. Key Duties and Responsibilities Oversee continuous distillation processes Monitor critical operating parameters Optimize production efficiency Hands-on experience with SCADA and PLC systems Interpret trends, alarms, and interlocks Utilize strong computer literacy (MS Office) Demonstrate knowledge of PSM frameworks (e.g. OSHA act) Coordinate with maintenance and engineering during planned maintenance turnarounds and unplanned shutdowns Apply root cause analysis (RCA) and NCR for continuous improvement Job Requirements Grade 12 Relevant tertiary education in Engineering, Management, or Automation Process Experience Minimum 2 years in petrochemical/chemical processing At least 3 years in a distillation plant environment 3-4 years overseeing continuous distillation processes 3-4 years hands-on experience with SCADA and PLC systems 3-4 years strong computer literacy (MS Office) 3-4 years demonstrated kn
