Working across the stack, you’ll detect and prevent abuse, assess emerging risks, reduce financial loss, and equip internal teams with the tools and intelligence needed to respond quickly and effectively. The ideal candidate brings high agency, a strong sense of ownership, exceptional technical judgment and product taste, a relentless work ethic, and the emotional intelligence to navigate complex, high-stakes situations.\n\nFraud prevention: Build real-time risk controls and decisioning systems for products such as ACH, debit cards, onramps, off-ramps, and other money movement experiences.\n\nScam and abuse detection: Develop signals, models, and product interventions that identify malicious wallets, transactions, applications, and user behavior.\n\nIdentity and compliance infrastructure: Build scalable KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, case management, and audit systems.\n\nData and intelligence: Create pipelines and tools that combine on-chain activity, product data, and third-party signals into actionable risk insights.\n\nProduct safety: Partner with product and engineering teams to design safeguards into new features from the beginning without compromising the user experience.\n\nOperational tooling: Build internal tools that help Risk, Compliance, Support, and Security teams investigate incidents and take action efficiently.\n\nTeam building: Help establish the technical foundations and engineering culture for a new, high-impact function at Phantom.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience\n\n8+ years of full-time software engineering experience\n\nExperience designing and operating reliable, data-intensive production systems\n\nStrong product judgment and the ability to balance user experience, financial risk, and operational complexity\n\nAbility to work across frontend, backend, APIs, data pipelines, and third-party integrations\n\nDemonstrated interest in protecting users and building trustworthy financial products\n\nNice to have: Experience with fraud, risk, identity, KYC, AML, sanctions, payments, fintech, or blockchain systems\n\nEnglish language proficiency\n\nWhy Work with Us\r\n\nFirst impressions matter: Wallets are responsible for a users first impression with crypto and onboarding new users into crypto.
