Built on technical excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to safety and quality, we take on complex challenges together. #phasorinclusive\nThe Opportunity\nWe're looking for anGeotechnical Engineer to join our Geo-Structural Engineering team.\nIn this role, you will support geotechnical and geo-structural engineering activities for energy, transmission, substation, and infrastructure projects. You'll be involved in site investigations, geologic hazard assessments, engineering analysis, foundation design, and construction support while working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.\nIf you enjoy solving practical geotechnical challenges, working on complex infrastructure projects, and developing your technical expertise, this role offers the opportunity to take on meaningful project work while building your career with a growing engineering organization.\nThis position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with occasional travel to project sites as required.\nWhat You'll Do\nSupport geotechnical and geo-structural engineering activities for foundation, retaining wall, and civil infrastructure projects \nAssist with planning and execution of geotechnical investigations, field assessments, and testing programs \nPerform geotechnical and geological analyses, calculations, and geologic hazard assessments, including seismic, slope stability, flood, erosion, and scour evaluations \nPrepare engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation \nCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical, geological, structural, transmission, substation, civil, GIS, and construction professionals \nParticipate in field investigations, geotechnical drilling, site inspections, and contractor coordination \nProvide engineering support during construction and communicate technical findings to project teams, clients, and contractors \nContribute to project planning, scheduling, quality management, and continuous improvement initiatives \nWork alongside senior engineers and geologists to develop technical knowledge and practical project experience \nSupport the development of engineering standards, processes, and best practices\nRequirements\nWhat We're Looking For\nBachelor's degree in Geological Sciences, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline \n4-8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical, geological, transmission, substation, civil infrastructure, or related projects \nExperience with geotechnical investigations for linear infrastructure and desktop studies \nStrong understanding of geotechnical investigations, foundation engineering, geological assessments, and geologic hazards \nExperience preparing engineering reports, technical documentation, calculations, and drawings \nExperience working within multidisciplinary engineering or construction teams \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills \nProficiency with Microsoft Office \nAbility and willingness to travel to project sites (approximately 10-20%) \nP.Geo designation, transmission line experience, GIS, and experience with geotechnical analysis software (SLIDE, DIPS, RocSlope, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT), along with construction-phase geotechnical support, are considered assets.\nBenefits\nWhy Phasor Engineering\nAt Phasor Engineering, you'll have the opportunity to be part of some of North America's most complex utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects while collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
