Built on technical excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to safety and quality, we take on complex challenges together.\nThe Opportunity\nWe're looking for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geo-Structural Engineering team.\nIn this role, you will provide geotechnical and geo-structural expertise for large-scale energy, transmission, and infrastructure projects, supporting everything from site investigations and hazard assessments through design, construction support, and project delivery.\nIf you enjoy solving complex geotechnical challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and leading innovative foundation and geo-structural solutions, this role offers meaningful technical work, leadership opportunities, and long-term professional growth. #phasorinclusive\nThis position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with occasional travel to project sites as required.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead geotechnical and geo-structural engineering activities for foundation, retaining wall, and civil infrastructure projects \nPlan and execute geotechnical investigations, geologic hazard assessments, engineering analyses, and design calculations \nDevelop engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation \nLead geologic hazard modelling, including seismic, fault characterization, flood, and scour assessments \nCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical, geological, structural, transmission, substation, civil, GIS, and construction management professionals \nOversee geotechnical drilling, field investigations, testing programs, and subcontractor activities \nDevelop and manage project budgets while supporting project planning and execution \nProvide engineering support during construction and communicate technical recommendations to clients and project stakeholders \nMentor and provide technical guidance to engineering geologists and junior team members \nSupport quality management initiatives while contributing to the development of engineering standards and best practices \nWhat We're Looking For\nBachelor of Science in Geological Sciences or a related discipline \nRegistered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) \n10+ years of experience in geotechnical, transmission, substation, or related infrastructure projects \nGeotechnical investigations for Linear Infrastructure and desktop studies are required. \nTransmission line experience is considered an asset\nStrong understanding of geotechnical investigations, foundation engineering, geological assessments, and geologic hazards\nExperience preparing engineering reports, technical documentation, calculations, and drawings\nExperience working within multidisciplinary engineering or construction teams\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills\nProficiency with Microsoft Office\nExperience with GIS and/or geotechnical analysis software such as SLIDE, DIPS, RocSlope, LPILE, GROUP, or SHAFT is considered an asset\nPrevious experience with construction-phase geotechnical support, field investigations, contractor coordination, or quality control is an asset\nAbility and willingness to travel to project sites as required, approximately 10-20%\nBenefits\nWhy Phasor Engineering\nAt Phasor Engineering, you'll have the opportunity to be part of some of North America's most complex utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects while collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
